This was very similar to how I prepare our ziti recipe (just essentially swapping mac for ziti noodles), so taking that into consideration for how we like things flavored I doctored the meat with a 1/2 TBS each Italian seasoning and garlic powder and 1 TBS minced garlic (I also used a whole pepper and a whole small onion, diced, and cooked with the meat and about 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms I wanted to use up - we like a lot of veg to meat ratio). Once the meat mixture was done and combined with the sauce and noodles I taste tested and ended up adding more Italian seasoning, garlic powder and pepper as well to taste. I sprinkled on some grated parmesan (not much, maybe 1/4 cup over the top) before the first 20 minutes of baking and added about 1/4 cup of shredded parm to the mozzarella cheese for the final 15 minutes of baking! Good, hearty and quick and tasty for a weeknight. I think each person just needs to taste test and adjust seasonings accordingly - a lot will probably depend on the pizza/spaghetti sauce you use as well. If you normally doctor the sauce you buy you will want to doctor it in this as well. Served with green beans and some homemade garlic french bread - yumm!! :)
