I made exactly as written, but no one in my family really cared for this. I usually love pistachio pudding flavor, but the mixture of fruit cocktail and oranges didn't work for me. I'll stick with the usual pistachio-pineapple-marshmallow combo next time.

I did tidbit pineapple (cause I read list wrong), fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, and maraschino cherries. EVERYONE loved it. I made it for my students to try at school and most enjoyed it (except those with pistachio issues).

I used sugar free cool whip. It turned out fantastic. My kids loved it and it was nice to make a dessert that my diabetic husband could share with us. :)

Mrs. Gail Bartlett, this is a great fruit salad. It is hard to believe it is diabetic friendly too! I chose it because I was looking to see if I could find one without marshmallows. It is a great combination of fruit, flavor, and sweetness. We only did add a tad more whipped topping then suggested. Only note: because there is less whipped topping and no marshmallows it will thin out a little in the fridge, but holds up nicely when it is first made. So, I would definitely make right before serving. I will make again next year. Thanks, and Merry Christmas everyone.

Very good fruit salad. Love that it is pretty much diabetic friendly. Good base but you could make so many adjustments.
