Real Italian Calzones

This is real calzone, because there is no tomato sauce INSIDE of it! We eat it at least once a week. Have a bowl of tomato or spaghetti sauce on the table for people to top their calzone with, if desired.

Use the bread machine to make the herb dough, roll it out and fill it with broccoli or any other vegetable you prefer. Then add ricotta, Parmesan, mozzarella and provolone cheeses. Seal it up and bake it for pizza in a pocket.

Italian Pizza Pie

Submitted by: Annette
This 12x15-inch pan pizza pie has a top and bottom crust, and a most unusual filling. Diced salami, provolone, pepperoni and cooked pasta is combined with a dozen beaten eggs. Then this hearty filling is piled into the bottom crust, covered with a top crust, and baked.

Delicious, satisfying, and very easy to make. My kids will even eat spinach this way! We serve them with warmed spaghetti sauce to dip them in and a salad. Yum!

We raise hogs, so pork is something I cook with a lot. These miniature meat loaves made with ground pork and Italian herbs are full of flavor. Our children especially like the topping of ketchup and Parmesan cheese. -Patricia Staudt, Marble Rock, Iowa
