Fantastic chili! My boyfriend said it was the best chili he's ever had! I did add extra spices (chipotle chili powder, coriander seed, as well as some minced garlic). I think it may have been a little bland without them.

Love this recipe! I cook my beans for half an hour first instead of soaking, and I cook everything in a regular pot. Also, I use fresh tomatoes instead of canned.

Taste was good, but I like some firmer beans in chili. Next time I will add some light red kidney beans.

Very good. I wanted a chili recipe that I could use on top of Nachos.

We added more chili powder and vinegar, but it was still a bit bland.

nice and easy recipe. I added more garlic (crushed) and a few hot pepper flakes for a kick. Will make this again!

This chili is GREAT!! I added shredded pork shoulder that was previously cooked and used beans I had made a couple weeks ago from my freezer. This was in my slowcooker from 5am until 5pm and it was the greatest smell when I walked in from a long day. I FINALLY had chili that tasted good that my dh LOVED...THIS IS A KEEPER... ( I am making this for my dad today to have in his freezer, as he is a senior, single male. HE'S GONNA LOVE IT!!) THANK YOU!

This is an excellent recipe except when you don't have 3 hours to prepare a meal. Though I always keep dry beans on hand, for this recipe I used 2 20oz. cans of cooked pinto beans (rinsed and drained), omitted the celery, added a few cloves of minced garlic (never cook without it), and the chili was ready to serve in 30 minutes. Served corn bread on the side for Daddy and the quesadillas for the kids. Delicious!
