They turned out fine, but i guess it was just not what i was thinking. They reminded me of cookies you'd see at a nursing home, just perfect shaped!

These cookies are AMAZING! I have been making them for the past three years at Christmas time and every year right before Christmas my family asks when I will be making these. They are such a hit and that makes it worth all the effort. One thing i do is, I cut the dough squares and transfer them to the cookie sheet and only then do i start making all the cuts and filling them. It's easier them trying to transfer them after. I frost the cookies as soon as I get them out of the oven so that the frosting melts and oozes all over the cookie. I agree with the last reviewer you need to chop the nuts really fine. Very beautiful to look at.

these cookies were disappointing. The pineapple had little flavor, and did the dough. they were pretty though. maybe with some flavored icing?

These cookies came out fabulous and were indeed worth the effort. A few tips: -Make sure to boil the pineapple mixture (takes a while on med low heat) before chilling - that way it thickens up nicely. -crush the walnuts up extra fine as regular chopped walnuts were too big. -Add extra milk (if needed) to the frosting to make it loose enough to drizzle. Sprinkle the nuts quickly so they will harden into the frosting. Used these for a cookie swap and they were a big hit. I will definitely make again and possibly attempt other fillings. Thanks for a great recipe
