Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • FROSTING:
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the first five ingredients; mix well. Stir in pecans Pour into an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely. In a mixing bowl, combine all frosting ingredients; beat until smooth. Frost cake.
