Pineapple Baked Beans

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (28 ounce) can baked beans
  • 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a skillet, brown beef; drain. Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover and cook on low for 4-8 hours or until bubbly. Serve in bowls.

This was OK but nothing special. I suppose there's only so much you can do with meat and beans. I appreciated that the pineapples were supposed to make it a little different, but it just didn't turn out as anything special.
