A simple baked persimmon pudding with just a hint of cinnamon. This recipe was found in my grandma's recipe box. I made it for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit!

This is an old family recipe. We use the Hachiya variety of persimmons. This is a very spicy, very elegant holiday cookie. Pecans can be substituted for walnuts.

Persimmon Pudding

In this recipe, persimmon pulp is combined with spices, eggs, sugar, flour and butter and baked in the oven rather than steamed in a pudding mold. Serve warm with whipped cream or caramel sauce. 

Sandra's Persimmon Pudding

Despite the fact that this pudding is baked rather than steamed, this spiced cake made with the pulp of fresh persimmon remains very moist. Serve with whipped cream.
