This really is a perfect turkey! I made this last Thanksgiving. It was the first turkey I have ever made and it turned out wonderful! I may have used more vegetables and I definitely tucked some thyme sprigs and pat of butter underneath the skin. It was the best turkey I have ever eaten. Thanks!

The best turkey my family has ever had!! My kids even think it is better than grandma's. We won't tell her that, though. I didn't make any changes to this one. The moistest and most flavorful one ever!!!!!

I don't know what I did wrong, but for me this tasted just like a normal holiday turkey (I made it mid-year though). I am just thrilled that I did not mess it up and everybody liked it. But it was not overly juicy like I expected. I soaked it for over 12 hours, and tried to follow all the directions, but it still came out just a regular turkey for me. But again, the 4 stars are because I made a nice beautiful turkey and would never have otherwise I'm sure. The great thing was I did not cover it, and it turned out an amazing presentation, the color was perfect and it could have been on the cover of a magazing! I put my potholders inside plastic zip-locs and turned the turkey (but it melted the sack just a bit on one side) and that worked out great. Per other reviews, I did not cook veggies inside bird, but on the outside on the rack. They turned out fine (I don't mind greasy veggies so I'm not a good judge of it). The pan will be full of juice though just from the brining process.

I was scared to death about making my first Thanksgiving turkey, but this recipe plus a few little extras was fantastic!! I just rubbed the inside and outside of the skin with a homemade herb butter, and used the bottle of wine on the bottom of the pan,,,, it was fantastic!! Thank you!!

This was, by far, the BEST Thanksgiving turkey I have ever eaten. Due to a problem at my local butcher, I didn't get the turkey until Thanksgiving morning and thus only got to soak it in the brine for 3-4 hours, but it was still so juicy and full of flavor! I will be using the recipe next year and every year - thank you very much!

This recipe was great. I did a couple things different. I skipped the wine and added some apple cores in the body. I made little slices in the skin and put some butter pats inside the skin as well as all over. I used a cooking bag to keep it moist.

I've done the holiday turkey for years and always gotten compliments. Several recipes I've tried have turned out well--but this one is THE BEST. I can stop searching for the perfect turkey recipe because this can't be improved upon!

I have been making Thanksgiving dinner for 14 years and have made turkey several different ways. This turkey recipe is now one of my top two favorites! It was perfect for a non-Thanksgiving turkey craving. I saved the drippings to make gravy for open-faced turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes the next night. Delish!!! Thanks for making turkey fun during the "off-season"!

Brining the turkey overnight is a must! It was so tender and juicy. I won't make it any other way.

So, so easy! My first turkey ever was beautiful and super moist. I microwaved the veggies a little before putting them in the bird and they came out just right. I recommend this recipe to everyone.

This was the best turkey recipe that I have tried (or it turned out the best). I had to downsize it a bit for a 11 pound turkey, but all worked out great. It was extremely moist with great flavor. My only caution with this recipe is that flipping a hot turkey is a bit difficult. My boyfriend had to help me do it and he wore special heat resistant gloves that he uses for work. If someone has a trick for flipping the turkey, please let me know :-). Otherwise this recipe is "perfect".

Oh My Goodness!! I made this at Thanksgiving - TO DIE FOR!!! My family raved about it! I took pictures - which looks like something off of a Butterball commercial or something!!! I will post them at a later date!!! Definitely Brine the bird overnight - since I didn't have the fridge space I placed the bird in a large cooler, topped with water and added lots of ice to keep it cold. Use a plate to weigh the bird down under the water. I used cooking wine instead of regular table wine. Definitely use more veggies. Whatever you do, don't put stuffing in the bird - gets VERY soggy!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe with the world!!! ;))

My husband, who likes dark meat was amazed at how juicy the legs and thighs were. I'm not an expert chef or anything but this tasted like I was.
