Great recipe! Super easy and super tasty! I agree with the other comments. I gave it four stars because you need to put more peppermint extract in than the original recipe calls for. I put in about 1 and 1/4 TABLESPOON and the flavor was perfect.

Recipe works great. I do wonder if there is a typo and that it should be 1 tablespoon of peppermint.

I had to add at least twice the amount of peppermint. It was great!

This recipe was absolutely the BEST for peppermint hard candy. I was trying to use The NY Times' recipe, and I burned 4 cups of sugar. This recipe saved me- it is easy to follow, and always turns out perfectly. I used pam to spray on some madeline tins and other decorative tins, and made shaped candies. I agree that you could put a little more peppermint in there. Thank you for saving my Xmas!

Very nice and incredibly easy recipe! Only thing I changed was double the peppermint extract as recommended by another member. Thanks for sharing :)

Pretty tasty. I had to try it twice since this was my first attempt at candymaking. Second try was MUCH better. I put in a second tsp. of peppermint, though. It still wasn't as strong as your typical peppermint candy. I think I'll try cinnamon extract with red food coloring next time.
