Peppermint Cereal Squares

INGREDIENTS
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
40 large marshmallows
6 cups crisp rice cereal
1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy

DIRECTIONS
In a heavy saucepan over low heat, cook and stir butter and marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from the heat. Stir in cereal and candy; mix well. Transfer to a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. pan; press mixture into pan. Cool; cut into squares.

A good way to jazz up rice squares. Next time, I think I will press the squares in a small pan so they will be thicker. Also, I think I will add chocolate.

These are a cute way to dress Rice Krispy treats up for the holidays. I use red and green peppermints and finely crush them and sprinkle it on top. Festive and delicious!

These were just so-so. I think these would have tasted better with additional and larger pieces of peppermint candy.
