I was skeptical with using bottled alfredo, but I have to say that this was awesome! You certainly can't tell the alfredo sauce was bottled after you're done doctoring it up! Thanks for a yummy recipe!

OMG this was the best. I made this for girls night in dinner for my friends and they couldn't stop talking about it. The only thing I left out were the onions.

This is an awesome recipe! My husband usually doesn't like any alfredo claiming a lack in taste, but he loved this one! The only changes I made was I substituted a can of sliced mushrooms (chopped) for the portobellos, and used a mix of parmesan and romano, and it all turned out great. This is definitely a new favorite- so much flavor you can't pass it up!

I couldn't get a better dish at a restaurant. Great taste and very filling. Added a Tbsp of flour to thicken sauce. This dish has become my entertaining recipe.

Wow, and I mean w-o-w. I made this the other day, and my wife said, and I quote: "This might be the best meal I've ever eaten." Can't find Alfredo sauce in the store here in the North Po..I mean Finland, so i made it with this Alfredo Sauce 2 recipe on this site. I didn't use as much mushrooms as the recipe suggested, but I'm sure the ½ pound wouldn't be too much. I also didn't add the cayenne (there wasn't any), but all the same - this was brilliant!

This was great! Whole family loved it. And they are picky. Only made a few changes because of lack of ingr. on hand. I used 2 diced roma tomatoes instead of red pepper, alfredo sauce with mushrooms already added, added sliced zucchini, and used half the ceyanne. Will definately make again.

The only reason i didnt give it five stars is because it was too spicy for my taste. My mom loved it though, and i have noted to put less pepper next time. Other than that it was amazing!

PERFECT – the only change that I made was to use my own home made alfredo sauce. I followed the rest of the recipe and it was fantastic. I ate so much that night, couldn’t stop, it was incredible. I will be making it again!!

My husband LOVES this recipe, he can't get enough of it. He likes spicy food, and he even added crushed red pepper to his bowl. I put in a little more shrimp than it called for, and used less cayenne but added crushed red pepper while the sauce cooked. Bow tie (farfalle) pasta makes for a fun presentation for company. Oh, and the grocery store was all out of any type of mushroom when I went, so we didn't use mushrooms and it was still great. This is definitely a new favorite in our house!

Made this for guests tonight and it was a hit, though the 12 yr old thought it a bit spicy. I used a little less butter and oil, and half and half instead of cream. Also added broccoli. Scrumptious!

WE loved this recipe. Followed exactly using 1/2 and 1/2 and all e.v.o.o. The baby bellas and sweet red bell added so much to this alfredo mixture. We also used cooked thawed shrimp instead of fresh cause thats what I had. We'll be having this again!!

This was really good! I did make a few minor adjustments. The family demanded that I not add the cayenne pepper. I had medium shells instead of penne so I used them. The portobellos I sliced into medium thick strips and I had a jar of roasted red bell peppers that I used instead of fresh. Everyone loved this dish! One thing to note, I have yet to find alfredo sauce that isn't salty so don't add any salt until you've tasted it just before it's ready to plate. Mine didn't need any because the salt in the alfredo sauce was enough. This recipe is a keeper! Thanks to the original poster.

I am a novice and did not realize that the cayenne would add such a punch. I found it to be very overwhelming. Will try this recipe again but will cut waaayyy back on the cayenne.

I would really give this recipe a four and a half but I just don't think its a five. The five star recipes I try on this site knock my socks off. Although this recipe is very good, and definatly one that I'll make again I don't believe it should be ranked as one of the "Grand Daddies". If your debating about it make it. It's relatively easy and good. It is very good on top of crackers as well.
