The sauce was good, but wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. I only used 1/8 cup of picante sauce because I'm not a big fan of the flavor, I added some ancho chili powder, chinese five spice, and an 1/8th cup of regular soy sauce, and they all went with the sauce well, but I was looking for a replacement for a traditional pepper steak recipe.

I made this pepper steak stir-fry for my family last night. It was good; everyone seemed to like it. It was nothing special like I was hoping. I give it a four star rating because it was "good" just not "the best".

This was a great recipe. I did change it a bit. I didn't add picante sauce didn't have it. I added about a Tbsp of spiced rum for some sweetness. I used stir fry meat pre-sliced from the grocery store and the veggies I used were broccoli, red onion and garlic. I also added worsteshire sauce too. My husband loved it and he is very picky. Next time, I will double or triple the sauce because it really cooks down as it boils. We didn't have rice so we just ate this by itself and it was still really good. Can you tell I made it in a pinch? Definitely try this recipe, you will be happy you did.

It was OK, pretty thick and sticky. Not sure I'll try this one again.

Yummy! The only things I changed were that I used Tabasco brand soy sauce (hey I live in Louisiana)which gives a slight kick, and since my grocery had no fresh ginger root, I added a little oriental 5 spice seasoning instead. Worked great. Also the pack of sirloin was 1-1/2 lbs which worked great too.My two guys ate until there was no more. Will definitely cook again.

Good recipe, but the directions don't say when to add the sauce.
