My husband supposedly hates vodka sauce. Funny how he just ate his entire plate of this and wants me to be sure to print this recipe so we can have it again. Our 8 and 6 year old children ate seconds as well. Outstanding!

I absolutely loved this recipe. I've been trying to find a great vodka recipe for a long time and this one filled that void. Thank you!

BETTER THAN ANY RESTAURANT! I doubled the sauce recipe after reading that advice in other reviews. I'm glad I did. I think the recipe as written would not make enough sauce for a whole pound of pasta. Plus, the sauce tastes so good, you'll want plenty of it to dip your bread in. The sauce turned out great! I added the following while I was browning the pancetta: 1/2 a large onion (chopped), 1 package sliced mushrooms, 1 can of peas (drained), 4 large cloves of garlic (minced), 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes. These additions just make the meal more substantial.

Just a wonderful dish.My son is a chef and he thought it was great. My family is Italian and hard to please when it comes to Italian cooking everyone loved it.I did add 2 nice sized cloves of garlic and red pepper to taste and did not change a thing in the ingredients.

Very easy and quick to make, plus it was really tasty. I doubled the pancetta - not because it needed it, but because of preferance. I used Dececco's jarred sauce. Reheated well in the microwave the next day. UPDATE: Tried again w/half & half per other reviews with dismal results. Will not make that mistake again.

I enjoyed this recipe. Like others, though, I thought there was no need for heavy cream. Half and half works just as well. I added onion and garlic to the pancetta for extra flavor. Even the kids love this one!

Absolutely delicious!!! Followed recipe with the following additions: browned two cloves of garlic in the butter, doubled the sauce (used Italian Seasoned Tomato Sauce,)and because I could not find pancetta, I cut a boneless, skinless chicken breast into bite size pieces, seasoned with salt and pepper, and cooked it up in some butter and garlic before adding to sauce. Hubbie absolutely raved. Thanks for a great recipe!

This was absolutely delicious. I had to modify it as I didn't have the bacon or cream but it still had the most delicious flavor and I'm sure if I had all the ingredients, it would have been out of this world.

Are you kidding me!!!? This is the BEST penne vodka recipe I've tried to date. My search is over - don't change a thing. Although fresh parmesan makes the meal, as usual!

I am definitely a fan. Paired with salad and warm rolls it was way better then going out to eat. I also like that there are few ingredients making it a very affordable dish. I scaled the recipe down for two and added extra garlic and sausage. Also I topped with fresh grated parmesan. Perfecto!!

This sauce is excellent and so simple. I use proscuitto instead of pancetta and I use pecorino romano cheese. I always get lots of compliments and cook it every year for our christmas party. It goes so quickly that I have to quadruple the recipe!

Use fat free half and half instead of cream to majorly cut down on fat (already not super lean).

Very good sauce. We used packaged cubed pancetta which I thought was too big and chewy but loved the flavour. Next time I will find a deli and have it sliced very very thin then chop it and see how that works out.

Delicious! I added a couple cloves of minced garlic and some chopped onion while browning the pancetta, and threw in some oregano, basil and parsley along with the tomato sauce, since I used a very plain version. It turned out great. I will definitely make this again.

It was delicious! I added fresh basil, omitted the pancetta and added grilled chicken. The only reason why I did not give it the full 5 stars because I actually had to make a second batch of the sauce just to cover my 16oz box of penne pasta! Other than that, it was great!
