My husband and I found this to be really bland. I added a dash of salt and pepper and an extra clove of garlic. It needs something extra but I'm not sure what. Thanks anyways!

Made exactly as written and wasn't thrilled. Although it had a nice smoky flavor from the garlic and bacon,it was not enough "stuff" for all that pasta IMO. So, I prolonged dinner and... made an additional batch of the bacon/tomato/spinach etc. mix. And, sauteed (sith the bacon and garlic) fresh yellow and red peppers, some separately-cooked (al dente') broccoli and added (surprisingly, with all that bacon) 1/4 tsp. salt, lots of fresh cracked pepper, and 1/2 cup shredded parmesan at the very end. Enjoyed it much more after that.

This was just okay. I used canned tomatoes and I think that might have been why I was not convinced by this recipe. If I ever make this again, I would use fresh tomatoes. Pouring the pasta water over the spinach turned out great!

Very tasty dish & so easy to make it your own! Made the recipe as printed the first time & we really loved it. Very fresh flavors. We have also tried it with italian turkey sausage added & with cannelini beans added. A new favorite at our house!

Pretty good. The only thing I did different was use wheat penne pasta. I am one who very rarly (almost NEVER) salts my food, but this needed a bit of salt added to it. It was a little bland. I never would have guessed that a recipe with bacon would have needed salt added. Over all good and I will make this again.

I usually don't cook a lot, however, this recipe was really easy to follow and really good. I made it for a dinner party and it was such a great hit! The only thing I did was to replace regular bacon with turkey bacon, so it wasn't too salty. Great recipe!

This recipe was okay...It was a little bland for my family. I used frozen chopped spinich that may have been a mistake. Probably will not make again.

I'm giving it a 5 because my husband is IN LOVE with this recipe. I made it two nights ago and he loved it so much he asked me to make it for the next night when we had company over. Then today he still wanted some of the leftovers! I made it exactly as is except I omitted the olive oil and put fresh parmesan on top.
