Made exactly as written and wasn't thrilled. Although it had a nice smoky flavor from the garlic and bacon,it was not enough "stuff" for all that pasta IMO. So, I prolonged dinner and... made an additional batch of the bacon/tomato/spinach etc. mix. And, sauteed (sith the bacon and garlic) fresh yellow and red peppers, some separately-cooked (al dente') broccoli and added (surprisingly, with all that bacon) 1/4 tsp. salt, lots of fresh cracked pepper, and 1/2 cup shredded parmesan at the very end. Enjoyed it much more after that.
