Pecan Pie Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 17)

I'm not a pecan pie fan, but my husband won't eat any kind of fruit pie. So when Thanksgiving comes around I always have to make an apple pie for me and a pumpkin or pecan pie for my husband. In the past years the pumpkin and pecan pies have always failed, but I tried this recipe this year, and my husband loved it. I was not very confident in making it, but it turned out great. I even had a few bites. My husband has already asked me to make another one.

I made 2 pies for Thanksgiving and I'm glad I did since 1 would not have been enough! Even my 10 year old son, who doesn't like any kind of nuts, had 2 pieces! Thank you so much for putting this recipe on here!!! I will definitely be using it again!

I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone seemed to like it. I call myself going right by the recipe, but when I first got it out of the oven I was nervous as it looked dry (it didn't have that shine), so I melted butter and brushed the top of the pie with a pastry brush. The pie set very well. I had no complaints, and the pie dish was empty.

I made this recipe as directed and it didn't turnout as well as I had hoped. I didn't want to give up on this recipe, so I made it again and tweaked the recipe using brown sugar and light corn syrup. This made a big difference and is the pecan pie I was looking for. I won't go back to my old recipe again.

I made this pie for Thanksgiving and they ate it all up! It was very easy and had a wonderful brown-sugary taste. I had issues with my oven, though...at 350 and after only 38 minutes the top of the pie had burnt but the inside had not set. (pie was on middle rack)....so be sure to check pie throughout baking. I put the pie in the fridge to facilitate setting, but it hadn't baked long enough and never did set. Nevertheless it was devoured, runny and burnt as it was. I will most definetly use this recipe again, as the taste was magnificent.

Made this yesterday for Thanksgiving dinner. It was easy to make and even more delicious to eat! Tip: After you pull it out of the oven, put it in the fridge to set.

I was disappointed in this pie. I followed the directions and my filling puffed up and became very crusty. As it began to brown to quickly, I tried to cover it with foil. It stuck to the foil and ended up very unattractive. The taste, however, was good. Maybe it would help to add the pecans on top of the filling. I don't think I'll be making this again.
