Pears, peeled and drizzled with melted butter, honey, ginger, and lavender, then baked until tender. Not meant as a dessert, but rather as the perfect accompaniment to any of your favorite dishes containing blue cheese.

No sieve used here! This recipe uses all but the core of the pear, and has a nice texture and taste. Adjust the amount of orange rind to your liking.

ORIGINALLY a pear crumble pie, I shortened this to a crumble when I often was too short of time to make a pie crust. I've also found canned pears work as well as fresh, so that makes it even easier to prepare. -Kezia Sullivan, Sackets Harbor, New York

Try this sweet, rich colored, butter-like spread made with ripe pears and a hint of lemon Liqueur. So easy to make and oh so good on toast or hot biscuits. If you prefer a lighter colored butter use white sugar in place of brown sugar.

More like cake than bread, this 'plummy' creation is moist and delicious. The pears and spices combine so tastily that I only bake this when there are other people around so I won't eat both loaves all by myself.

Pear butter is lightly scented with orange and nutmeg. This is an old recipe from a dear friend. Its taste is so good in toast or even on top of steak or chicken.

Great with Turkey with Apricot Glaze! Can be made without the nuts 4 days ahead; add the nuts just before serving. Originally submitted to ThanksgivingRecipe.com.

Pears bake up beautifully, especially when sugared and spiced as they are in this yummy pie that 's made just like an apple pie. The pear slices are tossed in sugar, a bit of flour, cinnamon and ginger. The luscious pears are then piled into a pastry crust, sprinkled with lemon juice and topped with a second crust.

After a filling meal, this elegant little dessert hits the spot...and it's a snap to fix! Patricia Olson from Germantown, Maryland serves a warm pear with a few simple ingredients. 'For a lighter dessert, substitute vanilla yogurt for the whipped topping,' she suggests.
