very, very good. made as stated, but substituted the cranberries for raisins...was VERY good. have also made with with both craisins and raisins, and added some apples, too- which my husband liked.. as he liked the pears, but liked the more crispness of the apples with them. will make again and again! great for a chilly fall night!

Awesome crumble...my 15 month old daughter could not get enough of it, we ate it warm with whip topping..mmmmh. Only made a few slight changes-- warmed the apple juice and let the dried cranberries soak for 15 mins so the really absored the juice and were nice and plump, I used 5 ripe pears and a can of pears (doubled the amount to make it really thick) and I mixed the apple juice mixture, pears and mixture together before putting in pan so everything was evenly coated. Came out wonderfully will be making it again this weekend for our family get together.

I'm not a big crisp or crumble fan, but this was very good, especially with whip cream on top. A great way to use up some fresh pears when your husband buys a case of them because they are "on sale". Pretty sweet, but I used brown sugar throughout, so that may be my fault. The cranberries lend a little variety to the recipe.

I omitted the apple juice and used lemon juice sprinkled on pears to keep their color. Omitted the essence too. I cooked it in the microwave. A trick I learned after using microwave apple crisp on this site. My DH cannot eat Fresh fruit because he reacts to something in the skin, Probably chemicals so I cook fruit daily for him. This is a keeper for us Thanks.

The flavor in this dish was wonderful. I didn't prepare it correctly, and I added pecans, it was still very tasty. This is an excellent recipe to use when someone gives you a bushel of fresh picked pears. :)

This was the best Crumble I have ever had! I think the pears (instead of apples) put it over the top for me. I also loved the combination of pears with cranberries. I did use almond extract instead of vanilla and prefer more topping so doubled the oats and butter. I will definitely be making this again!
