I made these for the first time yesterday and they are yummy! I was concerned because I only had natural peanut butter but it did not affect the bars as far as I know. I omitted the butter but followed the rest of the recipe exactly. They were best the first day...the cheerios are getting soggy now. Will definitely try again if I have extra cheerios to use.

I was looking for something to make with plain Cheerios leftover from my nephew's short stay last weekend. Wow! The Cheerio flavor really comes through in these more than I thought it would, and it's not unpleasant at all. I would be interested to try this with homemade caramel - may be less painstaking than unwrapping all the Milk Maids! I cut the butter to 1/4 C and it still turned out fine, and next time may cut it out completely. My husband's rating - "Pretty good"! Thanks!

These were great! I did have to add a couple extra handfuls of cheerios because there was so much caramel sauce. I also left out the stick of butter as I had assumed the fat in the peanut butter and chocolate would make it the appropriate texture. They go great with a glass of milk.

Yum! A quick and easy recipe. I only had chunky peanut butter and roasted and salted peanuts on hand, but they still tasted great.

We had sooo many free boxes of cheerios that we were looking for a recipe to use them up and this was it!! Easy and excellent. I left the peanuts out (fussy eaters) and added a few more cheerios and it was perfect. We've been taking them everywhere and everyone loves them and asks for the recipe.

Easy to make and the kids liked them. The only problem is that they don't store for very long as the cheerios get soft and stale.

This was tasty, though I think it would taste even better with homemade caramels...somehow the store bought had an artificial taste which I did notice somewhat when tasting.

I've been making these for a few years now. They are so easy to make. What takes the longest is unwrapping the caramels! :) This is a great recipe to make with your kids. It's a great mix of sweet and salty. If you don't have salted nuts use some (slightly) crushed pretzels.

Great recipe. You better like caramel. Next time I may add a few extra nuts/cheerios to cut the caramel a bit. Don't eat until they have set in the fridge! After they set...fantastic.

I didnt have any peanuts on hand when I made this, and guessed at how many 14oz of carmels would be, but my kids loved this! For the icing, I used 3/4cup chocolate chips, and 1/2 butterscotch chips. Twas Fabulous!
