I was skeptical about this one, but I thought I would try something different. I have to say, it was a really good vegetable soup recipe. I think I could have cooked it a little longer because my broccoli was not quite as tender as I like, but overall it was a good, and different, recipe.

Adding Peanut Butter to this soup made me very nervous since I don't care for P.B. However this soup is incredible! Thanks for the great recipe.

This soup was absolutely the best chicken soup I have ever eaten. The peanut butter adds a layer of flavor which you can't discern as peanut butter at first. It compliments the chicken broth and vegetables wonderfully! I substituted a few of the vegetables with a bag of frozen stir fry vegetables for time saving, and I also did this in the slow cooker, starting with raw chicken rather than cooked. I am going to make some more today! Take the risk, your whole family will love it! ENJOY!

I was disappointed in this recipe. I thought it was just ok. I guess I was expecting a thicker, heartier soup, but found it to be very bland and watery. I even doubled the amount of peanut butter, but it didn't help. I thought that maybe it would be better the second day, but I found it just as bland and watery then as well. My family wasn't impressed either. I won't be making this one again. Sorry.

Excellent, even great as a soup before you add the peanut butter! Two soups in one!

Pretty good and definitely healthy! Don't be afraid of the peanut butter--it adds a little more complexity to the dish.

Pretty tasty! I used sweet potatoes, peas instead of broccoli, skipped the green pepper and used a whole can of diced tomatoes. I agree that this would be pretty unexciting and bland as written... I added lots of cumin, some coriander, cayenne, and paprika and that helped to enhance flavors. This was not as spectacular as I expected it to be, but I did like it and will likely make it again at some point, but not often. Also, keep in mind that this makes a LOT OF SOUP. There's only 2 of us and we ate it for 3 days... thanks for the different recipe!

This sounded gross and I almost discarded the recipe until I read one review that reminded me of oriental peanut chicken. Then I thought... don't think peanutbutter soup. Think peanut chicken. It was great. The cook time gave a great texture of the veggies. The broth is not something I would drink alone, but with the veggie's it's good.

Delicious! This soup can be tailored to suit your tastes. We ommitted the broccoli, added frozen spinach and a little red curry paste to give it a bit of a thai flare. I'll definitely make this again!

It was good, but I really liked it after I added salt and threw some dry roasted peanuts on top.

I made this soup the other night.I thought that the flavor was very good. after reading some of the reviews, saying that they thought it was very bland, I did change 1 thing about the recipe. Not the ingredients, but just one step.I began with 2 TBLES. olive oil, heated, added celery, onion, garlic,a little salt &pepper to that and sauteed them til soft. Then added the broth and the rest of the ingredient's.This usually adds more flavor to the broth.

This was wonderful! I did add an extra spoonful of peanut butter (I used crunchy) and served it with some corn muffins. We both went back for seconds!

LOVED this. It was even better the second day. I didn't use brocolli - you can really use any veggies - I added a little extra chicken broth just to make it last longer.

This is delicious! When I was making it I was doubtful as to how flavorful it would be, but if you add the right amount of salt and pepper (and in my case a pinch of ground cumin), it's really very good. I will definitely make this again soon!

I love peanut butter on pretty much everything so I knew I would love this soup. It is so good. I prepared it according to the recipe except that I added one more clove of garlic. I thought the flavor was absolutely perfect. When I read the reviews where people say it is bland so they added cayenne or curry (???) I have to wonder if these people accept anything as flavorful without it being spicy. Lack of a spicy zing does not equal bland. It's just a different flavor. Spicy is not the only flavor out there. And I personally LOVE the subtle flavor of this soup. It is the flavor of all the vegetables blended together, and the peanut butter adds an extra boost. I think it's perfect. If you're looking for something spicy, make a different soup--don't ruin this one with cayenne pepper!

this was muy delicioso! the peanut butter adds so much flavor and makes this a really hearty soup! i have made it a couple times and the chicken, although tasty, is unneccessary bc the peanut butter adds both protein and makes the soup filling. i like this recipe because it provides a great base for playing around with vegetables and spices u have on hand in the kitchen. yum! definitely try this

Although the peanut butter gave this a different taste from ordinary vegetable soup, I didn't think it was all that good. The cooking times for the vegetables are off too. The celery should be among the vegetables added first as it was still crunchy when the other vegetables were done. I wouldn't make it again.
