Thanks for posting this recipe - my mother & I always used to make these when I was a kid, and I couldn't find my recipe book. Thanks for saving the day! PS. I don't spread the peanut butter drizzle out all over the bars when I make them - I just drizzle it back and forth accross the whole pan. It ends up looking really pretty.

Yum! These are so good right out of the oven that my family ate half the pan on the spot! Happily, they are also still great the next day. Nice crumbly texture and the perfect blend of peanut butter and chocolate.

My daughter calls these Gramma's cookies because my MIL always has them for us when we visit. They are my family's favorite! Now I know the recipe and they are so easy to make.

So good. I was considering not making the peanut butter sauce, I'm glad I rethought it. It wouldn't be as good without it. Easy to make, even with a 2 year old that wanted to do everything!

My family has loved this recipe for years. We did add our own little touch by using 2 bags of chocolate chips and 1 bag of butterscotch chips melted on top and it has been used that way in our family since I before me. We love it, can't stop eating it when I make it.

These are great. I did not have powdered sugar so instead, warmed the milk in a small pan and dissolved some regular sugar in it, then mixed in the peanut butter. Worked great! This used to be my favorite dessert in elementary school -- they always served it when they had beef crumble over mashed potatoes.

Really good! We really enjoyed these. I cut the confectioners sugar down to 1/3 cup because my husband doesn't like the taste in general and he never even noticed I'd used it in the icing and frankly I kept searching out the peices with the most peanut butter icing because I thought they tasted the best so for those thinking of skipping it - I wouldn't. These are very good and a great way to make a bag of chocolate chips stretch!

Mmmm yum. I quartered the recipe because there's only two of us and I tend to eat dessert until it's gone. Instead of using 1/4 of an egg, then, I just used an egg white and made it in a bread pan. Turned out great!

Excellent! My peanut butter drizzle didn't come out that great...I think next time it will be just as good without it. I had to give away half of the pan because I was going to eat all of them myself. I found that it fit fine in a 13 X 9 pan and it was much easier to put in the pan when I used my hands to flatten it down instead of a spoon.

This is one of my favorite recipes. My family has been making this for at least 25 years. I make it anytime I have to bring a dish and everyone loves it! I usually make it with Crunchy Jif Peanut Butter (I've tried others and it's just not the same). I make the icing with crunchy PB too and make it in 2 pans. This is definitely a hit no matter where I take it!

Very good, very easy recipe. I ended up not doing the topping, just the chocolate chips, since I ran out of time. But it was a hit anyway. Will make again. And again. And again. . .

I can't stop eating these! Based on other reviews, I used a smaller baking dish (I'm not sure of the dimensions; it is an oval casserole dish). Otherwise, no changes needed. I love these!

A tasty treat. All turned out as expected, sweet and chewy/crunchy, except this really doesn't fill a 9 x 13" pan. A slightly smaller pan might be good, if you have some weird size (9x9 or 8x8 would be a bit too small), or else fill about 2/3 of 9x13, which bakes fine in 20 minutes. I used margarine because I was out of butter, but otherwise followed recipe exactly. The drizzle is tasty and not too sweet - do make it!
