Loved this! I did as others said & drained 1 can & left juice in other can. Also shaved my butter across to cover all areas of cake mic & sprinkled with cinnamon. Taste is delicious. Have tried peaches, blueberries etc.

Very sweet, but very yummy. My husband was actually the one who made it -- I just read the directions to him as he went. He cut the butter into very thin slices and laid them all over the top. It baked to a beautiful crisp!

My mother started baking this cake in the 70's...I changed mine up a little. I found thinly sliced butter is better than melted and I put brown sugar (I use lite syrup peaches) and chopped pecans on top! It's a great cake for last minute guests or if you're feeling something sweet fast...it's a pantry staple. Also most fruit pie fillings work too.

This game out a bit "gooey" for me and I'm not sure why. My husband and kids enjoyed it though. Served it piping hot and the pan was emptied quickly.

Every time there is a family gathering, I am always asked to make this favorite desert. I made a little variation to this recipe. I sprinkle brown sugar over the top and I also add chopped walnuts. This gives it a nice crisp top and also it adds a nice flavor.

This was way too sweet, and I even used light syrup. Maybe I'll try making it differently next time, if at all.

Wonderful and easy dessert. Served with ice cream at a large family event and it was great. I used cherry pie filling instead of peaches and it was awesome!

This is a delicious and easy cake to make. I like to put the dry cake mix in a bowl, melt the butter and pour it over the cake mix. Then I mix it until crumbly and sprinkle on top along with some chopped walnuts.

Not a recipe which knocks me out of my socks, but still a very tasty dish. STILL - **why** would anyone fuss with trying to push the cake mix into the fruit & its syrup ???? Drain the syrup into a bowl, add mix, beat until smooth & pour over the fruit in the baking dish. Slick as a trout, much faster. I've done it with both approaches now, and there is no way I'll fool with the "push it down" method again. Taste & texture are comparable.

This is very good. I love peach cobbler and this is a great way to change it up a bit. I like sprinkling the top with chopped pecans and sometimes even add crushed pineapple with the peaches.

SO good and SO easy! I did use LITE peaches instead of the heavy syrup. This was still REALLY sweet, even with the lite, so I will always use those. Thanks for the recipe!

This is fantastic with 1/2 package of instant vanilla pudding mixed in with 3 cans of peaches and juice to thicken up the liquid. I also topped the butter with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and topped with cinnamon. It wasn't soggy at all. The crust on top was crispy and delicious!

Good recipe overall, but I made changes. The first time I made it I did as written and found it very very sweet, and I usually like very sweet things. Second time I made it I used two large cans of peaches, drained the juice out of one, and only used enough cake mix to cover the top, which was about 3/4 the box. The second time was MUCH better. I served it warm with vanilla ice cream. It is super easy, and have a good flavor...can't be easier for the taste!

This was a good recipe that I used with fresh white flesh peaches my neighbor gave me from his tree. I just added a little cinnamon and sugar before adding the cake mix. I also used a cheese grater with really cold butter to distribute it evenly over entire pan. This worked like a charm. Thanks to the reviewer who suggested that. Overall very easy and quick recipe for good dessert. UPDATE: Used mixed fresh berries and was a delicious topping for ice cream.

This was really good! I'm not usually a fan of peach desserts, but for some reason it sounded good today. I only had one can of cinnamon brown sugar peaches, so I mixed in some frozen unsweetened strawberries. Since I was using peaches that already had cinnamon in them, I omitted the cinnamon from the recipe. I tried to follow another reviewer's suggestion for grating the butter, but that didn't work so I just sliced it really thin and laid it evenly over the top of the cake mix. It was delicious! I topped it with whipped cream, but next time I think I want to try vanilla ice cream.

Delicious! I followed several other suggestions from viewers. First, I used a small cheese grater to cover the entire cake with butter (worked like a dream). Second, I topped with about a half cup of brown sugar sprinkled on top of the butter. I just sprinkled the cinnamon on top of that. In the future, I may try adding more peaches. I like a lot of fruit. Just a personal preference, though.
