For some reason these pumpkins bars just didnt do it for me. They didnt have enough pumpkin flavor and for whatever reason i thought they were a bit dry. I made them as written but did have to add some extra spices and i am so glad i did because otherwise they would have been way too bland. I was really hoping these would be super dense and really pumpkiny. Thanks anyway for the recipe!! UPDATE: These were way better the next day- for that reason i am going to up my rating to 4 stars!!

It's true that this is more of a cake than bars but its perfect. I made it in a 9 by 13 cake pan and baked for 35 min. I also added 1/4 tsp. of nutmeg. So delicious that the whole cake was gone in just an hour. The icing is good but the cake tastes great by itself also.

LOVE THIS RECIPE! Wow. I did 3 eggs instead of 4 (like other posters had mentioned) and added dashes of nutmeg and cloves to the mix. I made it in a cake pan and also cupcakes. I could see chocolate chips or raisins going really well in this recipe also. I might try that next time.

Good. Great the next time, with 3 eggs instead of 4 and 30 ounces of Libby's pumbkin pie filling instead of the puree i also suggest you use Cream Cheese Frosting II recipe instead of this frosting version.

These bars are fabulous! They are very simple to make, don't have a long list of ingredients, and are not too sweet. I substituted splenda for the sugar and added 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice thanks to previous reviews, but other than that it was great as is. My husband keeps going back to the pan to "even out" the row! Yum, yum, yum! Thanks for a great recipe!

Followed others suggestions and cut down to only 3 eggs and added 1 1/2 t. vanilla and used the cream cheese frosting recipe on the web site. My husband said that these were the best bars that I have made in a long while. Definate keeper!!!

Fabulous! I actually followed the directions from reviewer 'ilstu99' posted underneath the recipe. Even with her changes it is still a cake; not a bar. But SO good! I did follow the original recipe for the cream cheese frosting. This was the best frosting I have ever had! Excellent cake! I will be making this again for sure!

I followed Circekitty's directions (and added a bit of nutmeg) and this turned out perfectly! Not overly sweet, but very flavorful.

I absolutely love pumpkin bars and have tried several recipes. This one is by far the best. I prefer more frosting so I double the frosting recipe by doubling all ingredients and using an 8 oz block of cream cheese. This recipe also fits nicely in a bar pan. Some of the others I tried were too much or too little.

Very good. The icing was a little runny and I would probably try to make them a little sweeter next time but overall very delicious.

This is cakey. Not the recipe I was looking for, even after adjusting the eggs and pumpkin amounts. It's a good pumpkin cake, though.

Thankfully, I read the reviews prior to making this, so I changed the recipe to make more moist, dense bars. I used (2) 15 oz. cans of packed pumpkin, half the amount of baking soda and baking powder, and added 1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice. So far, everyone LOVES them. My neighbors are practically drooling over them. Lol.

From reading the other reviews, I knew that this would be more of a "cake" and not a bar, so I really wasn't disappointed. However, I really think that the cream cheese frosting makes this cake! It was really delicious! I would definitely recommend making the frosting to go along with these.
