Although these came out very moist and delicious and the icing was excellent, too, I have to give them 4 stars instead of 5 b/c they did come out more "cakey" than bar-like. I also omitted an egg like 1 reviewer suggested and they still were too cakey, not that that's a bad thing -- they were wonderful, but I really wanted a pumpkin bar. Still, a great recipe!

Wow. These are perfect. Definitely bake until a toothpick comes out clean, otherwise the middle will be gooey. Some people like that though:) The cream cheese frosting is WAY better than pre-made.

I've made these several times now and we just love them. I follow the recipe but also add a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. I suggest not doubling the frosting, the amount given is more than enough! Thanks :)

My son's kindergarten class used this recipe 5 years ago. They have become a staple in our household. My son begs for them all year long! Thanks, Paul.

mmmm...these were delicious!! they were gone in seconds at our thanksgiving feast! (the kiddos loved them too). I did make a few changes based on others comments. I added quite a bit more spice (and i'm glad i did). i added 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice. 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 tsp. nutmeg and few dashes of all spice. I also did about 6oz. of cream cheese and added a few dashes of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture. After i baked and cooled - i then cut into squares - and iced individually. (this way you get a good ammount of icing on each one). mmm..it is "cakey" but soooo moist and sooo good!

Just ok. Made according to directions, only in a cake pan. Cake (bars) was too moist and not enough frosting. As others have suggested, make more frosting or use another frosting recipe and cut an egg out.

Wonderful recipe! I usually hate when people change the recipes, but I confess to having done that here per Circekitty's modifications, and I think she was dead on (thank you Circekitty!!!). Subtract an egg, use 30 oz. pumpkin pie mix instead of the 15 oz. puree. Add 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice to the cinnamon. Perfect. I also omitted the frosting here and used Cream Cheese Frosting II from the site. And I agree with others that this is more on the cake-y side, but that's fine with me; this will be our new go-to family birthday cake. Love it!!

These were great, I made them following the advise of using 3 eggs for the bars and 8 oz. cream cheese and 3 cups sugar for the frosting. They didn't last long, shared them with some friends & they couldn't get enough of them

I loved this recipe. I would have added more spice to it but it was still delicious. I wouldn't really consider it a bar though. It was more of a cake.

Followed the bar recipe to the letter but doubled the frosting (only because my family loves cream cheese frosting - but it wouldn't need it). Everyone LOVED them. Will definitely make these again, and agian!

I made this recipe with the extra pumpkin and 1 less egg... it was a little thick for my liking (although still quite yummy). Next time I'll make the original recipe.
