The flavor was good, but the garbanzo beans added an interesting crunch. Would not add them again.

Although everyone liked these very much, I am not much of a baked bean fan. They were good enough, but I like more of a kick, like a vinegary taste to baked beans; these were on the sweeter side. I rated them more on the response of my baked bean loving family members and the fact that they were pretty easy, looked nice (I used butter beans instead of garbanzo...I like butter beans better), and tasted pretty good in general. I cooked them in a crock pot on low for 8 hours, worked great.

These were great! I used a 2nd can of baked beans instead of garbanzos, and I omitted the molasses because I didn't have any on hand. They were a little sweet but I got lots of compliments from my guests!

I have made this twice now and it has become a favorite at my BBQ's. The only problem is that I can only make it when I am having compay...it makes a lot and it is hard to cut the recipe in half.

These were so good! Only change I made was to swap out garbanzo beans with a can of navy beans. Loved the variety of beans all mixed together. I also added a crunchy crust to it - 1 cup panko, 3 chopped green onions, and a couple slices chopped bacon. Topped with that, put in oven and it was nice and crispy by the time the beans were done.

This kids and I loved it. It was very similar to what my Mom used to make on the 4th of July. I used dried onions and garlic powder in place of the fresh onion and garlic, I didn't have all the different beans so I just used 3 cans pork and beans, 1 can kidney beans, and 1 can great northern beans. I also used precooked bacon. I also cooked it longer than 1 hour (it could be because I still had some liquid from the canned beans) Very delicious!

Fantastic Recipe! I made this a few nights ago and loved it! The only change that I made was putting the whole deal in a slow cooker on high for about 4 hrs.

Excellent! Loved the different textures of the beans. I really should have halved this recipe though. I made it for 6 and it was still way too much - don't know what I was thinking?!

Very flavorful and have the right texture. Only complaint is the garbanzo beans didn't thoroughly cook, and in general are harder than the other bean types. This resulted in semi-hard beans admist otherwise "al dente" beans. Some may like this, but if not, you may want to pre-microwave your garbanzo beans.

These were great. I did add 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika. Will add 1/2 tsp. next time. I followed one suggestion of cooking in the microwave to cut down on the oven time by 1/2 an hour. The next night I reheated it for an hour at 350 (covered)and placed two pork loins on top. I turned the loins over after 1/2 cooking. This was great. When I make them again. I'm going to cook the loins with the beans. It made a great meal.

Very good recipe! I cut out the brown sugar and reduced the ketchup to 1/4 cup and added 1/2 cup of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. I also doubled the baked beans and elimited the chick peas. Very good!

Good baked bean recipe. I did change up the bean combo to our liking and added some vinegar. Also cooked them in the slow cooker and they were wonderful.
