1 cup water (70 degrees to 80 degrees)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon paprika
3 cups bread flour
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast

DIRECTIONS
In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons water or flour if needed).

This is a delicious bread! My husband and I both enjoyed it very much - it was soft and tasty, and was also really good for sandwiches a day later. I'm making it again today to bring to Thanksgiving dinner!

oh man...this turned out awesome for me...didn't change a thing...lite and tender and i used it for ham sandwiches...whoa...will do this again forsure...thanks

It was just a touch bland for my tastes, but my guests adored it, and it paired well with the slow cooker chicken taco soup I made. Next time, I might add more paprika, or perhaps add some chili powder. LOVED the texture though!

This bread had an extra crispy crust my kids loved, and I loved the smooth and soft texture. Next time I think I will have to kick up the spice a little as well. I will certainly be making this again though, even if doctored a bit to fit my tastes more. Thank you for sharing.
