I followed the advice of other reviewers and added a little vanilla, and I did as an article on this sight suggested and let the batter sit in the refrigerator for about an hour, and these came out amazingly good! I had never made pancakes from scratch before, and this recipe is perfect for my small family as well. Also, I made them a second time with whole wheat flour and they still came out perfect!

Read "The Subtle Art of Perfect Pancakes" on this site. This article has several tips, one of which is to refrigerate the batter for a while to allow the gluten to settle down and let the baking powder start to act, resulting in fluffy pancakes. Also , do not stir before using as this pops all the little bubbles created from the sitting. Interesting, huh!?! Anyway, except for a little vanilla, made recipe as it reads and I was happy with them.

Basic, but good. Next time, I may add vanilla as other reviewers have recommended. The ingredients in this recipe blend well. I doubled the recipe and ended up with the perfect consistency. I served it with some store bought hash browns mixed with onion, 1/2 lb ground sausage, paprika, salt, and pepper. A great breakfast!

These are delicious! I use buttermilk and increase the salt to 1/2 teaspoon. Don't mix the batter too long.

They were wonderful (: I substituted the oil with butter, and flour & baking soda with self-raising flour. I also find that covering the pan with a lid while cooking makes the pancakes fluffier. MMMMMM.

These tasted a little flat to me. I used buttermilk instead of regular milk and they still did not have much of a taste. I will stick to my usual buttermilk pancake recipe.

I doubled the recipe for these and added some sliced bananas and cinnamon. They turned out really yummy. They were a great texture, not too thick or dense, but just nicely fluffy and moist. A great, simple pancake recipe which you can easily customize with any additions you want. Everyone who tried them really enjoyed them. Maybe next time I'll make apple, or blueberry, or whole wheat.

The basics are good, but next time I'll use less oil, sugar and milk. (This recipe is fine if you eat them without syrup, but add syrup, and it's too sweet!)

wonderful pancakes! Light and fluffy - must be the baking soda.I usually use a "just add water" mix - but these are much better. I won't use a mix again.

I was going to post my mom's recipe that she's been using for years, and I saw that this is the exact same one! The only thing we don't use is the salt. It's so easy, and so yummy!

This was an easy simple recipe that I already have all the ingredients on hand at all times. My family loved it! My husband even ate one and he NEVER eats pancakes! I added a tiny bit of vanilla like a lot of other users suggested but I didn't cut down on the milk. I guess that just depends on what type of texture you prefer. I like my pancakes a tad on the thin side so it was great for us :)

Had saved his recipe in my recipe box for awhile and finally made it today. Both my husband and I were impressed! They turned out great! I didn't over mix the batter so they were not too runny. Also added some vanilla as other reviewers suggested.

I made these for my girls last night for supper and they were so delicious! The only changes I made was bread flour (it was all I had) and then I added a smidge of vanilla to the liquid. Thank you so much, I will make these over box mix anyday!
