I like to mix whole wheat flour with white (when the recipe is doubled, use 1/2 c. whole wheat and 1 1/2 c. white). I also let the mixture sit in the fridge for 20 minutes, and cook with a little butter in the pan. I even sprinkled a few chocolate chips on the pancakes while they were cooking. My boyfriend said they are the best pancakes I've ever made :)

These were very good. I used 3/4 cup white flour and 1/4 cup whole wheat, and added 1 tsp of vanilla, but otherwise followed the recipe. Turned out very good and fluffy, will defiently make them again.

These pancakes were absolutely delicious! They came out extremely fluffy and thick. I doubled the recipe, but only used one egg and 1 1/2 cups of milk as suggested by previous reviewers. I realized afterward that I forgot vanilla, but they were excellent anyway. This will be my standard pancake recipe from now on!

This recipe was super easy and fast. The batter was very thin and runny but the pancakes cooked up fine anyway. The whole family thought the taste was great. Thanks for sharing a simple and good basic pancake recipe.

I made these with skim milk, but I think that even if I had used whole milk it would have turned out too thin. I added more flour to make it thicker. I also added some vanilla (1 tsp.), because pancakes always taste a little bland to me. And I added chopped pecans (1/2 to 3/4 cup). They were really good with the changes.

Great pancakes! I was a bit worried when mixing the batter, thinking that I might have missed some ingredients because it was very very think for pancake batter. But it cooked great! Will be my new pancake recipe

I make these every weekend for our kids as a breakfast treat. I substitute buttermilk for the regular milk, and use unsweetened applesauce in place of the oil. This recipe has become a real family favorite.

I must have done something wrong because my batter was too thick and not as thin as I prefer for pancake batter. Kids didn't seem to mind though.

Delicious! I used half whole wheat flour, and would do the same next time, or maybe use even more whole wheat.

This is a wonderful basic pancake recipe. However I added 1 teaspoon vanilla, 3/4 tablespoon of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg to make it a little more unique and a little more tasty. I also suggest adding a 1/4 or 1/2 of the flour as wheat for a more healthy spin on pancakes. Overall a great and easy recipe.

These are great! I use this recipe as a base for all the pancakes I make. I usually add a little bit of cinnamon to the dough, because it tastes a bit bland without it. The last time I made these pancakes I added one rippled banana to the dough, and they were WONDERFUL. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

I tripled the recipe since I had teenagers to feed which I don't think affected the outcome. They were thin but a good basic recipe for pancakes. Everyone said they were yummy. Thanks, Michele, cambridge, ontario
