This is a great basic recipe! I followed the recipe exactly the first time I made these (let sit in the refrigerator for 15-30mins for fluffier pancakes), and they turned out fluffy and delicious. The next few times I added a bit of cinnamon and vanilla, and those were great also.

No more boxed mixes for me! I did read the pancake guide on this site before making these, and they turn out great every time. I put in 1/2 whole wheat flour, 1/2 white flour.

These got great reviews, I made them for my mom for mother's day. I took some other reviewers advice and did half whole wheat flour as well as added 1 tsp vanilla extract and olive oil in place of vegetable. I also put in a banana and chopped walnuts.

I have made these several times (checking the expiration dates on my baking powder and soda each time), and they always come out flat. The taste is okay, but the texture is wrong. I do like the richness of adding the egg. Overall though, I'm deleting this one from my recipe box and going to find another.

I've made these pancakes many times, and they're really yummy (almost like McDonald's Hotcakes). I add about 2-3 times more sugar so they're a little tastier and cook them in a small round pan on small flame to get the right amount of brown-ess on one side.

These were ok. I followed the recipe to a T. My 5 yr old who doesn't speak due to Autism(and she loves pancakes) let me know very clearly these weren't good cause she took one bite turned around and spit it backon the plate. I didn't thinkt hey were that terrible, but they were very, blah! Not much flavor. I can't believe these made the top 20.

This is an awesome recipe! I forgot to add the vanilla, but it turned out just fine without it. My daughter and I were hungry and couldn't stand waiting 30 minutes--and they turned out very flat, but I did notice as the time passed cooking them they started getting fluffier. It also helps slightly to cover them while cooking, as recommended by another reviewer. I also refrained from over stirring the mixture. It is a great recipe and I will definitely be keeping this one.

These pancakes were really good. The only change I made was to use butter instead of oil and once I mixed the ingredients, I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and let it sit in the fridge for about a half an hour to allow the gluten to settle down and the soda to start to work. The end result were really tasty, fluffy, tender pancakes.

In my eagerness to eat them, I forgot to include the egg. They still turned out fluffy & yummy! I added about a half tspn of vanilla, as others suggested, along w/a generous shaking of cinnamon. Absolutely perfect! I am no cook, & consider myself a real novice, so this is a great recipe even for those like me.

Yes, A 5 STAR *****. I love this simply & tasty recipe. Everyone loves this recipe. I made a couple of health conscious changes. I added 1 TSP vanilla (your favorite flavor, strawberry, blueberry, etc)& changed the corn oil to olive oil, changed the all-purpose flour to organic unbleached pastry wheat flour, sifted the dry ingredients, whipped the egg white then added the egg yolk.

I found these to be a bit bland even adding the vanilla and a dash of pumpkin pie spice. These cook up beautifully but like the previous comment, be sure to let the batter sit only mix the matter until combined! I'm still a fan of the "Old fashioned pancakes" found on this site.

I've tried tons of pancake recipes. This is by far the best. I've added 1 tablespoon of mexican vanilla into the milk. Absolutely amazing. Great with chocolate chips too.

I thought these were VERY tasty, almost "pastry-like" for lack of a better word. They were well received by all! I should mention that I doubled the recipe but kept the milk at about 1 1/2 cups after doubling and the batter was plenty thin.

I like to mix whole wheat flour with white (when the recipe is doubled, use 1/2 c. whole wheat and 1 1/2 c. white). I also let the mixture sit in the fridge for 20 minutes, and cook with a little butter in the pan. I even sprinkled a few chocolate chips on the pancakes while they were cooking. My boyfriend said they are the best pancakes I've ever made :)

These were very good. I used 3/4 cup white flour and 1/4 cup whole wheat, and added 1 tsp of vanilla, but otherwise followed the recipe. Turned out very good and fluffy, will defiently make them again.
