Easy and simple recipe, perfect for Sunday breakfast. Important to follow the tips and advice, don't stir too much. Just need to add 1/2 tsp of vanilla. Light and fluffy, perfect with butter, maple syrup, honey, fruits jams....Thks CYNDILB for the recipe.

I followed the tips from this site for perfect pancakes and did not beat the batter....gently mixing instead and letting it rest... and maybe that was the problem. Batter was runny and pancakes were flat, completely the opposite of what I was looking for. The flavor wasn't there either.

I followed this recipe exactly and it turned out completely flat, my kids thought it tasted too much like egg.

I followed the recipe exactly but the batter was too runny which in turn made the pancakes too thin. I don't think I'll make these again. They tasted ok but i like a thicker fluffier pancake.

These pancakes are just like my mum used to make when i was "little", and gosh that really is saying something. I would highly recommend trying this recipe, you won't be disappointed... one little hint though, and this is true for any pancake recipe is to keep a little extra milk handy, if the mixture starts to thicken up while you are cooking, just add a little more milk and whisk through and you'll have light, fluffy and mouthwatering pancakes throughout the whole batch. Enjoy!

I doubled the recipe and used 1 cup unbleached white flour and 1 cup plus 1-1/2 tablespoons of whole wheat flour. I added 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Because of my son's food allergies, I used rice milk and Ener-G Egg Replacer and the recipe still came out delicious.

These are the best, if I can get my picky six year old to eat them. In fact, she asks for them every morning. I use just a little over 2/3 cup of milk for fluffier pancakes and I also "eyeball" the amount of cinnamon and vanilla that I add. But my husband and daughter love them. And so do I.

I have once tried the ready mix pancakes, turned out like sponges, terrible! I've tried the banana pancake recipe, was ok! but I gotta say, this is so far the best pancake i've ever tried. thin and light just the way I like 'em :) thank you for the recipe!

I followed the recipe exactly as written and my advice is to NOT alter this recipe! If you do the measurements and ingredients exactly as listed, you will have picture-perfect pancakes that rival any old box mix.

These pancakes came out amazing. They were so light and fluffy. I learned 2 good tips from other reviews like: 1. dont over mix the batter so the pancakes will be fluffly (and dont keep stirring it when your actually cooking the pancakes) and 2. let the batter rest in the fridge for about 30 min to let the baking powder and soda start working. This recipe is definately a keeper.

Now THIS is what your basic pancake is supposed to taste like. Tender-crisp, not too sweet, well balanced, and the batter consistency is perfect. Since I used all whole-wheat flour and no white flour, I increased the baking soda to 1 teaspoon, and added 1/4 teaspoon cider vinegar to the egg mixture, to boost the rising power. I also used 1/4 cup buttermilk powder, stirred into the dry ingredients, then used water instead of milk. Let the batter sit five minutes before cooking. Result... the first pancakes I ever made I wouldn't be ashamed to serve to guests. Fortunately, I don't have any guests tonight, so I gets 'em all!!! Made just the right amount to eat some and save some for breakfast.

This is a great basic recipe! I followed the recipe exactly the first time I made these (let sit in the refrigerator for 15-30mins for fluffier pancakes), and they turned out fluffy and delicious. The next few times I added a bit of cinnamon and vanilla, and those were great also.

No more boxed mixes for me! I did read the pancake guide on this site before making these, and they turn out great every time. I put in 1/2 whole wheat flour, 1/2 white flour.
