We loved these pancakes and took the advice of Lorrie56. We added vanilla, let the batter sit in the fridge, and did not stir it when we took it out. They were delicious! Thanks for the recipe - we will be using it from now on!

i think these pancakes were excellent - exactly what i was looking for. I did use whole wheat unbleached unenriched flour and a touch more of sugar, since I used Sugar in the Raw - healthier stuff and no compromise in taste! Thanks so much!

These were pretty good. I was trying to find a recipe that resembled the one's that my grandma used to make! I add about 1/2c (sometimes a little more) milk to make them extremely thin and also use lard instead of the oil.

These have become our staple pancakes for weekend breakfasts. They're great as is, but it's perfect for us with 1 tsp. vanilla.

I followed some of the advice of other reviewer's and added 1tsp vanilla and substituted butter for the oil. The taste of the pancakes were okay but the consistency was terrible. They were rubbery and came out very flat. I will try another recipe instead of this one next time.

These pancakes were tastey. I did add an additional 1/2 tablespoon of sugar. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla. In order to make these vegan, I used egg replacer and rice milk(1/2 cup original and 1/2 cup vanilla) instead of milk. They turned out great. My husband and son loved them(so did I)!

i made this recipe as is, and it was super easy and tasty to boot. next time i think i'll use brown sugar and a little vanilla, but for a quick sweet fix, this hit the spot in a jiffy.

This is a great tasting, easy-to-make recipe! I made it slightly different (1 Tbs.butter + 1 Tbs. oil) and I didn't use the baking soda (b/c I didn't have any) and they came out terrific. They fluffed up beautifully and tasted perfect. My son and fiance loved them.

I used whole wheat flour, and this is by far the best pancake I've ever made! Easily beats any of the whole wheat pancake mixes I have purchased for $4! Thank you for the recipe - exactly what I was looking for.

This recipe was okay. Not bad, not great. It was a little flat and flavorless for my husband's and my tastes. My husband made a huge one and rolled it up like a crepe. That was pretty good.

Ok, I know everyone loves their pancakes differently, so I'm rating these based on my opinion of the perfect pancakes. I LOVE the simple recipe and how I cooked them came out the way I like: a little flat and floppy. Maple syrup tastes the best with these and the batter stores well as other reviewers have said. I think these pancakes are just perfect. I wouldn't choose any other recipe over this.

I made these exactly as the recipe called for, and they turned out perfect! I've tried other recipes on this site with buttermilk, and I have to say these were tastier. If you're looking to make a lot of pancakes, you'll definitely have to double or triple the recipe though. I only got about 6 medium sized pancakes from a single batch. I love that everything needed for this recipe I have right in my pantry. Thanks for sharing.

I made these pancakes yesterday morning and I thought they were the best pancakes I've ever had, they were very thick but I like them that way! Super easy to make, why use a mix? Did add Vanilla with wet ingred.

This is our stand alone recipe for pancakes for the past few years thanks to Cyndi for sharing... every once in awhile I'll try a different one and then I think... "why did I bother?!" and my kids really notice and ask for "the other ones!" We double it for our family with our 3 kids and we always serve our pancakes with plain yogurt and applesauce & a little syrup to give it a healthy boost.

Great recipe! My husband enjoys making pancakes. He's made these twice and both times I've thought that they are the best he's ever made. We added a slosh of vanilla and ran out of baking powder. We probably only had half (or less) of what we were supposed to have and they still were great. This will be our family's pancake recipe from now on.
