Added vanilla and decreased baking powder according to other reviews. My boyfriend loves these on Sunday mornings.

Excellent pancakes, I will make them again and again, very fluffy. I didn't make the syrup so I can't comment on that, and I did reduce the baking powder to 2 1/2 tbsp like other people suggested. This is my new pancake recipe.

Very good I wouldn't use the rum in the syrup though. Also 2 servings is enough for 4 people.

We all loved these. Taste is just as good as at a restaurant. I did follow recipe exactly. I too didn't make the syrup but used what I had on hand. Will definitely add some chocolate chips (my girls love them in theirs) and maybe even some pecans, walnuts, etc! This is going in my recipe book!

What a life saver. My son asked for pancakes for dinner tonight! And becasue he's so darn cute and I can't say no, I was lost! I didn't have any mix in the house and then I found this. What a wonderful recipe. I love that it has 'normal' ingrediants that I have on hand. The pancakes were delicious. Super fluffy! As with other reviewers I did not make the syrup, I just used what I had. I'm sure its wonderful though. So anyway, thanks again for saving me. Now I know I can make pancakes whenever!

These are thick pancakes for sure. Lower the heat in your pan before you burn those pancakes while trying to cook them thru! Other than that I took the advice of others and lowered the baking power to 2.5 tsp, and replaced the veg. oil with butter and 1/2 the sugar since we usually load the pancakes with syrup. Good recipe to add fruit to since they are thick. Thanks!

I ran out of my pancake mix, and of course my 5 year old wanted pancakes. I wanted something fast and simple. This was a great simple recipe! I did decrease to 2 tsp. baking powder as many suggested, and added 1 tsp vanilla. They were great! It was the ease of panacake mix with the benefit of being homemade! I will no longer use the yellow box!

These were wonderful! I usually don't like fluffy pancakes, but these hit the spot. I did change a few things though. I used only 2 1/2 tsp baking powder, added vanilla (as it seems many here did) and used honey instead of sugar. They were great. This one gets added to the recipe box! Happy eatings! (Oh, almost forgot, served them up with bananas and walnuts...yummy!)

The syrup wasn't good at all. The rum flavoring is terrible if you are used to maple syrup. I would suggest using maple extract instead.

These are the best most simple pancakes to make ever ! I skipped the syrup and just heated up what I had. I even added some extra sugar and half a can of pumpkin on my next batch. Sugar and cinnamon to taste in the batter. They were fabulous !!!

Pretty good pancake recipe -- I liked the fluffiness although my husband said "These are really thick" -- you can't please everyone lol. I wanted a little more flavor in mine -- I did add pure vanilla extract -- but I think these would be a great base to put in bananas and nuts or blueberries. Thanks for the recipe!
