I've been either steaming or stir frying with asparagus. This recipe is a winner yet. I cannot wait to hit the market for some fresh asparagus. I thank you, and my husband THANK YOU.

Experienced cooks will know, without reading the submitter's review and clarification, that this recipe has some problems. For inexperienced cooks, it's no wonder they didn't care for this if they prepared it as the recipe is written, with it's excessive amounts of butter and olive oil, and the direction to saute the garlic over such high heat. If made correctly, you will simply drizzle a bit of olive oil in a pan, add a little butter, saute the asparagus until crisp tender, and add the garlic at the very end after lowering the heat. This is a simple, delicious and classic method of preparing many vegetables in addition to asparagus, worthy of five stars if prepared with the necessary modifications.

This recipe is awesome. Used the amount of garlic called for-we love garlic. Be sure and bend the asparagus to find where it will "snap" to get rid of the tough part of the stalk. Used 3 Tbsp of butter with the olive oil, and added a little fresh squeezed lemon. Everyone loved it, even my year old son! Thanks for sharing!

Very good and easy! I used a pound of asparagus and only one tbsp of olive oil. I also love garlic so I used 3 cloves. This is a great way to eat asparagus and you can cook it to the firmness that you desire!

I absolutely loved these! I have cooked asparagus many different ways and this is by far the yummiest and most tender version I have ever tried. This is my new favorite way to eat asparagus and my husband and I will never go back to boiling or steaming after trying this!

I thought this recipe was excellent! Granted, I overcooked the asparagus because I ALWAYS overcook the asparagus, but the flavoring was very, very tasty. This recipe will encourage me to practice my timing!

This is the best way to make asparagus! I added extra olive oil and included a package of fresh mushrooms to the mix. The flavors blend very well.

I didn't use the exact measurments as I forgot to print off the recipe, but remembered the ingredients and sort of added as needed while cooking these. Awesome flavor, I only used a maybe 2 tablespoons of butter and that was MORE than enough! So good!

Although this was a wonderful recipe, I still think that i like asparagus roasted in the oven better. This is a good one to have on hand for something different, though.

Even though it's not the healthiest application for asparagus, it tastes so good I had to give it 5 stars! Definitely use at least 1 lb of asparagus for the listed amount of butter and oil. I probably used about 1.5 pounds and I thought it turned out deliciously.
