This was a tasty way to prepare asparagus. I love asparagus and eat it often, usually either steaming it or roasting it in the oven. This was the first time I tried pan-frying it, and it came out wonderfully. Definitely do wait to add the garlic until near the end, and I think medium-high heat is a bit much. Mine was done in less than ten minutes with medium to medium-low heat.
