Five star with this modification. I used butter instead of oil. I also added FRESH chopped garlic in at the last minute after frying the asparagus. Excellent!!

Quick, easy, taste great! I used this recipe the first time I made asparagus and I'm hooked. Of course there are other ways that taste great but this one is just too easy!

As many other reviewers have stated, you have to be very careful with how much oil and butter you use. It smells fantastic while it's cooking and taste wise, it's pretty good.

This is sooo good! It probably makes it so unhealthy, but it sure does make me want to eat more asparagus and my husband too. :)

I'd never made fresh asparagus before I tried this recipe. Even after halving the butter and oil it was slightly greasy, but otherwise great. I drained the asparagus on some papertowels after I cooked them to remove some of the grease. My 7 year old son absolutely loved this and ate all of his veggies before he touched anything else on his plate. I'll make this again but try a little less butter next time.

This is a great change from the steamed version I always do. The outside was a little crisp with a smooth inside. Remember not to cook too long. Even when you take out of the pan they will still cook a little. I will for sure make my asparagus this way more often.

As written, this recipe has way too much butter. I recommend what another reviewer did: sautee the asparagus in just a bit of butter and then put it on the pan and just drizzle a bit of olive oil over it. Do not use 1/4 cup of butter. That is just excessive. If you reduce the butter way down to about a tablespoon, this will be great.

Great recipe. I followed others suggestions by cutting down the butter and salt and it turned out great. If you don't asparagus that much you might want to give this a try.....it might just change your mind about asparagus :-)

Great seasonings, but next time I won't cook for a full 10 minutes... I like my asparagus to have a little crunch to it and this was just a little too soft.

I never liked asparagus but decided to try this anyway. First off I would like to say I will be making this again it was delish, but I found it to be way to salty so Ill have to cut down on that. Thanks for the recipe, I can't wait to try it again.
