I don't know if I did something wrong, but I think I followed the instructions accurately, however, this casserole just wasn't good. The combination of flavors was strange and the consistency was on the bottom of the dish was very mushy. Not something my family enjoyed. I think leaving the bread out and adding rice might work. Wouldn't go to the trouble to try and experiment with other ingredients.
