I took some advise from previous comments and changed this up just a little. Here is what I did: Added 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar to the cream cheese (I did use the full 2 packages of cream cheese) Used 11 eggs, but next time I'll use only 10 Used about 1.5 cups of blueberries in the casserole Used 2 cups of blueberries for the syrup and forgot the butter, but it turned out **fabulous** I drizzled a bit of the syrup on the cooked casserole and saved the rest to use "as needed" per serving. It does make a LOT, so it would be good for a group. My husband and I couldn't stop eating it, and even my picky 6 year old daughter liked it. She said it was even better than blueberry pie! We have a blueberry farm nearby, so we will most definitely be making this a must make recipe every time we go blueberry picking.

I needed more from this dish than it delivered. It was neither sweet, nor savory enough for me. I followed some suggestions by reducing the cream cheese to one 8 oz. pkg. and topped it with cinnamon before baking. Without the sauce (that is fabulous), this dish just fell flat for me. I think the cream cheese needs to be sweetened because it was a slight bit bitter without sugar.

Delicious! I used frozen berries instead of fresh. 1 1/2 C over cream cheese. Added the additional 1/2C sugar. Also whipped cream cheese with 3T confect. sugar. I doubled the syrup recipe and poured it over the baked product.

Very good! I am not one for changing recipes, but I did sprinkle a little cinnamon on top before baking. I halved the recipe and put it in a 8x8 and bake covered for 25 min and uncovered for the same. I did make the full amount of the sauce. Absolutely delish!

I made this according to the recipe and it was just ok. My husband and I had something similar but absolutely amazing on our honeymoon at a bed and breakfast on Victoria Island. We all agreed that without the bluberry "compote" this version would be a waste of time-very bland. Next time, I will make the following changes: mix powdered sugar into the cream cheese and either spread or dollup over the bread; double the blueberries in the mix; double the syrup and add a little lemon juice to it.

I feel like this recipe has a lot of potential, and with a little tweaking, it could be really wonderful. Maybe if I followed some suggestions left by other reviewers the dish would have been more flavorful. But instead, I followed the directions and measurements exactly and ended up with something I'm not really sure my family will finish eating. I think I'll give this recipe another go and create a mixture of cream cheese and powdered sugar to spread in the center. The best part of this recipe was the blueberry sauce -it was something everyone in my household agreed on. I haven't given up on this recipe yet, so onto round 2!

Overall it was good. I used French bread. It had a bread pudding consistency. Would probably make it again but next time cut way back on the eggs. The blueberry sauce was super yummy!

Awesome! More like bread pudding than french toast! Used half of cream cheese.

Wow!! The only thing I changed was mixing the cream cheese with about 4 T. of powdered sugar and a little milk and this was really delicious!! My husband doesn't like chunks of cream cheese. Thanks for posting!!

Amazing !! I sorta messed up the dish I put honey in the eggs instead of syrup. I was tired but used a loaf of french bread then after I took the foil off drizzled syrup on top let it finish cooking and it was devine. Nice and crunchie on top. But I did add a tablespoon of lemon juice in the blueberries because I though it would be to sweet. It came out great.
