This is almost identical to a recipe my dad uses. I'm a university student, and these potatoes are really easy to prep and cook, they make a great side dish. Instead of using olive oil, I use zesty Italian dressing, it adds a little kick of flavour.

At first I thought the onion soup way over did it...they smelled so potent, but they cooked up nicely! We liked them a lot!

These are very good potatoes! I cut mine into 1/8 pieces and baked them for 20 minutes at 450 then 20 minutes at 350. I put salt and pepper on them before I put them in the oven to cook. With the adjusted size and cooking time/temp these turned out perfectly. Thank you!

so easy, great taste definitely a keeper. I agree if you want to change the flavor--as some suggested garden mix and so, that's great, but the onion soup mix was great for the side to the meal. Kept the calories down too. Followed directions exact and but forgot to stir them during cooking, but it didn't change the flavor. Thanks for submitting this recipe.

I grew up with onion soup potatoes, but my mom always used russets. I have also made them with russets. But, I don't know why I didn't think of red potatoes before! Much less starchy and a better flavor.

I love this recipe. However, last time I went to make it, I realized I had NO onion soup mix. But I did have a packet of Knorr dried pesto mix. I used that instead, added some grated parmesan, and it turned out GREAT!

This recipe has always been a favorite. Simple and tasty. I think you can doctor this recipe up to fit your taste without a problem. We have even put in a foiled baking bag and threw on the BBQ or campfire. (remember to rotate!) Thanks for sharing! YUM!

I didn't have any onion soup on hand, so I substituted veggie soup mix and they turned out great. My picky hubby loved them!

This recipe is AMAZING!!! I made this for a quick get together while grilling out... everyone loved these potatoes! Pre-heating the pot in the oven gives them a nice "crunch"!

Very nice dish, especially considering how easy it is to make. We really enjoyed the flavor that the soup mix gave to the potatoes. We ended up cooking it a bit longer than called for, but otherwise followed the recipe to a tee.

Meh. I needed to add quite a bit of extra seasoning to bring out any flavor. A good starter recipe, but definitely needs some that something extra.
