my mother used to make beef jerky 30 years ago and that's where I learned to make mine. I can never seem to make mine the same way twice.beef jerky is so expensive, it doesn't make sense not to make it yourself! Thank You Patti, Patty

I did not like this recipe. My advice is just buy the $30.00 dehydrator and use it. I make jerky a lot and i buy it from stores in between batches. My dehydrator broke after 3+ years of steady use. I will be buying another sooner than expected.

This is a good recipe. It turns out great but it's a pain in the butt to make! I'm going to go ahead and stick to buying the pre-packaged jerky :D

This jerky turn out great! I did crack the oven door and kept an eye on it and I ended up baking it for the full 5 hrs at 200 degrees. Oven temperatures vary, however so when trying this recipe for the first time you might want to watch it so it doesn't dry out too much.

Just a quick note...I used to make jerky for a local grocery store...you do not have to bake it that long. Try it again at 200 degrees and stick a wooden spoon in the oven door so that is cracked a tad. Bake it for about 1 1/2 hours. According to what I see, the ingredients should make this recipe taste great...trust me and try it again.

These came out tooooooo dry. I know that jerky is supposed to be dry but it was more than dry. My cousin made the joke that he chipped a tooth on it. I would NOT make this again. Not trying to be mean but for the first time ever making jerky this was discouraging.
