I used proscuitto instead of bacon (I couldn't find any once, if you can believe that), and bbq sauce instead of ketchup. Wow, did it ever turn out well!People I know who don't like beans raved!

I made this in my cast iron skillet and just baked it in the skillet. It worked very well. I like this recipe because it works for a small family like mine. My go-to baked bean recipe is much too large and cooks to long for a regular meal in our house. This is a great substitute.

I LOVED these beans! They are very similar to my mothers who was out of town when i needed a bean recipe. In fact, I'm going to continue using this recipe than refer to moms! Excellent...

45 MIN IS WAY TO LONG. I CUT THAT IN HALF. I ALSO ADDE GREEN PEPPERS IT WAS VERY DELICIOUS. MY WHOLE FAMILY LOVED IT!!

45 min. way too long. Beans turn to mush. Taste was ok, but won't make again. Quick way to make baked beans, though.
