Wow! This is so easy and tastes so great! We liked it both with and without the cheese. I completely forgot about the basil. Might try that next time, even though it was perfect without it. The only thing I did differently was add onion powder and some garlic salt to the orzo while it was cooking in the broth.

This was fantastic and so delicious! I am sending the recipe to all my friends because it was so easy and so tasty. A nice and different side dish from what you normally see. I think it would be a great dish for the summer with some fresh diced tomatoes along with the basil. Can't say enough good things about it!

I love this orzo recipe! You have to pay attention to it while cooking, and it gets cold quickly if you do not serve it right away, but the flavor it great!

This recipe was DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! The only change i made was to saute in some fresh garlic when i "browned" the orzo and then I was forced to use dried basil. Other than that I followed the recipe and was delighted. The kids gobbled it up and I went back for seconds. I've already emailed my sister the recipe and will be adding this to our list of regular sides!! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

I thought this was a great side dish. It did have a strong parmesan taste, so put in less if you don't like it so strong. What we didn't eat the first night, I heated up and we ate the second night. It was just as great!

This turned out more like mac & cheese for me, not what I expected. I increased the serving size - perhaps that threw off the ingrediants. Also used dried basil, not fresh.

Outstanding recipe! Plus, it prepares in about the same time it takes to cook the salmon on the grill.

I make a similar dish. I leave out the cheese and put in almonds when I sauté the orzo. I also do not add all the broth at once I put in a little at a time. When the broth is absorbed I add more until the orzo is done. My husband and 7yo son love it!

I was looking for a recipe with orzo because my mom bought me some and I had never eaten it nor cooked it before. And now this is my husband's favorite recipe I've ever made! We add chicken that I cook with Italian dressing. I let the chicken brown up a little and the Italian dressing to burn on the bottom of the pan and then add a little bit of water so the chicken can soak up all of the good drippings! We add that to the finished orzo, and it is outstanding! Many of my friends love this recipe now, as well! Thanks so much!

This was pretty good. I would like to try it again with fresh basil and grated parmesan. I think the recipe really needs the basil to give it a little something, otherwise I just prefer pasta noodles with a bit of butter! Also, I only had a block of fresh parmesan, which obviously does not coat as evenly as the grated would. A nice simple side, even my picky 3 year old ate it!

This was such an easy and delicious side dish to my Chicken Kiev tonight. I tasted it before I added the parmesan cheese and I could have eaten the orzo just in the buttery chicken broth sauce, to be honest. It was also delicious with the parmesan cheese and basil. But it's nice to know that should you not have the parm or the basil, you can make a fabulous side dish with just the orzo, butter, and chicken stock. Excellent!
