I thought this was great! It had a subtle flavor that won't overpower your main dish. The kids didn't care for it, one said it was the "green stuff" he didn't like. I bet if I had chopped the basil finer he wouldn't have even noticed.

Delicious side dish. Made this for my family & they loved it. Actually my 2 kids & I ate before my husband came home from work & we cleaned the pot!. Now I have to go make another batch before hubbie gets home. This is a great basic dish with endless possibilities for additions. Can't wait to try it with garlic. Thanks for the great recipe!

This tastes great! I like to add baby portabella mushrooms, grape tomatoes, and chicken to the mix for a "one skillet meal" I don't have to mess with. I love the flavors together!

Excellent! I did it as written and with mushrooms and it was great both ways. This would be a wonderful base recipe as well with so many possible additions. I think I will try it with fresh peas and garlic next!

My family has had this at least 10 times in the last year. We do add fresh sauteed mushroons, and we find that we always have to add quite a bit more chicken broth than the recipe calls for. My kids and my husband love it.

I started this orzo with sauteing onions and garlic, I had some left over bacon from breakfast and threw that in here too, this was DELISH!! It was creamy and salty, the basil was subtle. I will of course make this again! Thank You Dodie!!

I love Orzo and this was a good recipe to showcase it. Except, it was too bland for me. I add a lot more spice to it. Some chili sauce and lots of chopped garlic.

Really enjoyed-great flavor. I had to add quite a bit more chicken broth. Also wished I had used a little less basil-mine from the garden was a little overpowering. Added garlic and red pepper flakes and served with chicken breasts stuffed with provolone, artichokes and red pepper-can't wait for the leftovers!
