This was pretty good, however, I didn't have Basil, so I used fresh cut chives instead and it everyone liked it. Next time I'll try Basil.

Dang good Orzo served with grilled butterfly lamb. When I sauteed I had several different colors of brown in the orzo. For chicken stock I use an Amish base so I can control the infulence. Basil was fresh from the garden, 1/3 cup. Result: I wish I had tripled the recipe and so does the family.

This is a wonderful new way to make orzo. My family loved it. Also added a little EVOO to reduce sticking.

This was absolutely delicious. I did make a few changes based on what I had on hand. I sauteed about 2 T. fresh chopped garlic and 1/4 c. finely diced red onion with the orzo and butter. I did not have fresh basil so I used fresh chopped baby spinach. I used shaved parmesan which gave it a nice, robust flavor. My husband loved it and asked me to make it again soon.

This was very tasty but I thought it could use some crunch, so I added some sliced almonds. Perfect!

Easy and delicious. I added a little nutmeg, and about 1 TBL EVOO to reduce sticking. A new favorite!

Well ... I haven't been here to look at the recipe for a long time. I'm so intrigued at how everyone seems to love this. It's truly a delicious, easy, impressive dish. Funny story ... I was making it one night, and my dad was watching me. He sounded really confused when he asked if we were having it for dinner. I told him we were and asked why he was asking me that. Well, he thought that I was making Rice Krispie Squares. The cheese is sort of stringy when you're taking it out of the pan, and it really does look like Rice Krispie Squares! Updated on 6/29/09: I'm still so impressed with the favorable comments on this recipe. Glad everyone likes it so much. I keep thinking that I want to try some of the improvised versions that others have come up with, especially those with mushrooms or tomatoes.

This was a big hit with the whole fam; both the 2 and 5 year old included. I also cut down on the butter. Easy and fast and makes a great healthy side dish.

I thought this was awesome. I usually hate rice-a-roni side dishes, but I thought orzo by itself was fantastic. I agree that you could cut down on the butter and it would still be great. Our basil plants were going berserk so we were looking for recipes that needed fresh basil.

Usually side dishes are no big deal, but this was AMAZING!!! So yummy. I only used about 1 tablespoon of parm (all I had). I also added some garlic powder and pepper. Salt was not needed due to the chicken broth. My husband does not like boxed rice but LOVED this. He thinks it would be good with vegetables like peas. Will make again and again.

This is delish. It was good as written but I did take other reviewers' advice and had some extra chicken stock on hand. I also added a bit of garlic powder, wanted to use fresh but didn't have any on hand, and some chopped sun-dried tomatoes. Yummy!!
