Oregon Salmon Patties Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 10)

Very good. We really enjoyed these and will keep this recipe as my go-to for Salmon Patties. These were much more flavorful than what I remember eating as a child. I used less butter to saute the onions and only used a few tablespoonfuls of the reserved liquid - and probably didn't really need that. I added a nice squeeze of garlic paste - about 2 tsp. Other than that, I followed the directions exactly. Next time I'll try a garlicy mayo instead of the hollandaise I made tonite. Hubby really liked this. I did get 6 nice sized patties out of the recipe. Thanks again Jonnylen!

The taste is 5 stars but I am a little on the fence with that because I had to add a lot more cracker crumbs for these to hold a shape. These are the best salmon patties I've ever made. My family said they taste like crab cakes from a high end restaurant. I used boneless and skinless canned salmon. I needed a second skillet as I couldn't fit 6 in one.

I suspected something was wrong when the liquid from the can only came to 1/4 cup (recipe said 3/4 so I added 1/2 cup water -- this was a mistake, patties were so wet I could not form them w/o putting in ALL the cracker crumbs). I used Bumble Bee pink salmon; I wonder if the RED salmon would have yielded more liquid and better flavor, as my other complaint is that the taste was bland. One more issue, and it may be due to a typo: recipe said 2/3 cup cracker crumbs, then later, in forming the patties, it said "use 1/3 of the cracker crumbs." One-third of the 2/3, or 1/3 of a cup? I assumed the latter. I would try it again with red salmon, less liquid, and maybe more mustard or some hot sauce.

Great recipe, I'll be holding onto this one. I didn't use any reserved salmon juice, and I used 10 oz instead of 14.75 but left the other measurements the same. I added a teaspoon of Old Bay. Mixture was wet to work with, and I baked it at 375 for about 10 mins per side (because I refrigerated the patties for a half hour or so before baking). I served it with mashed potatoes and topped it with mayo that I mixed with sriracha. Great stuff - husband loved it!!

**** I like some finely diced celery. This is also good using canned tuna - my grandma made this with tuna.

so yummy! The whole family inhaled them including my picky eater. I made a few adjustments to the recipe: 1 tsp dijon mustard instead of dry, 4 small cans of Salmon instead of 1 large, 1 tsp jarred minced garlic, and dry bread crumbs instead of cracker crumbs. With the extra can of salmon I was able to get 6 salmon patties fromt eh recipe. I suted in 2 tbls olive oil + 1 tbls butter. I made the lemon sauce suggested by other reviewers. A bit smeared on the bun with lettuce, cheese, tomato, and the patty. I will be making these again :-)

Delicious! Changed it around of course...Used minced garlic and onion (not fresh), omitted parsley (didn't have any), used Spicy Mustard (not dry), added dill and lemon pepper and used olive oil instead of shortening. Oh and I used twice as many bread crumbs as suggested. I found the 3/4 cup of liquid from can to be too much. I suggest adding this last or a little at a time so it isn't too moist (otherwise it is a pain to make patties). They were great! Even my nine-year old loved them (which is almost a miracle). Also, used the "lemon sauce for salmon patties" recipe as others suggested and that was great too!

These are awesome!! I followed the recipe to a T. But after I cooked them, and tasted, I sprinkled a little seasoning salt over them. Then they had that little oompf they were missing. Might also try adding a little garlic to the recipe next time. But I loved the moist patties from leaving in the juice!
