I just this lovely cake. It fed about a dozen people and they all loved it. The only thing I did was to add a bit more cinnamon and cloves. I did not use any whipped topping - just the marmalade. Really a very nice cake. I will be making this regularly. Thank you for sharing it.

This cake came out moist and delicious! I skipped the topping but I'm sure it would be good. Thanks for a great recipe!

Just by tasting the unmodified batter I can tell this is a great spice cake recipe! I did modify my batter though. Since the only thing I like topping my spice cakes is powdered sugar and a couple reviewers note that you can't taste any orange until you glaze it with the marmalade (a fact I agree with after tasting the batter), I added the zest of one orange to the batter as well as it's juice as part of the 1/2 cup and it was AMAZING!! It tasted just like you would expect orange spice to taste like from it's smell, YUM!! I also added a bit of salt to bring out the sweetness and flavor a little more but I added it after tasting the unmodified batter which was fine without.

Turned out very well. I didn't have molasses, so I used corn syrup - still good. Next time, I'll increase the ginger and cinnamon.

Delicious, a real treat! I'd add in some more orange though because I also did not have any marmalade. Yum!

I made my own fresh whipped cream for this cake. Outstanding. Will be making it again in a couple of weeks.

This recipe tasted gingery and gave the house a nice festive kind of smell. I used all recipe ingredients except the whipped topping and it came out quite well but I do think that a softer taste like whipped cream with it would make it perfect. I didn't taste much orange until I added the Orange marmalade on top, so next time I will more Orange flavoring. Other than that, I really liked this recipe and I will make it again.

This was very good--very much like gingerbread in taste & texture. My only changes were that I doubled the recipe, used dark corn syrup (I was out of molasses), and I added a little salt & a little extra sugar. Didn't use the orange marmalade glaze. Next time I'll definitely use molasses, because I think it adds depth and richness. Great recipe!
