Orange Dream Torte
SUBMITTED BY:
Taste of Home Test Kitchen
"Our Test Kitchen home economists came up with this fancy-looking torte. The fluffy filling is encircled by store-bought ladyfingers and topped with canned mandarin oranges."

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes or until syrupy. Fold in 3 cups whipped topping; set aside. In a small mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth; gradually beat in the milk. Fold in remaining whipped topping.
Grease the bottom of a 9-in. springform pan; sprinkle with cracker crumbs. Arrange ladyfingers around edge of pan. Set aside 1-1/2 cups of the orange mixture. Alternately spoon the cream cheese mixture and remaining orange mixture into pan. Spread reserved orange mixture over top. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until set. Remove sides of pan. Garnish with mandarin oranges.

I found this months ago and it is amazing. I really love it. I've made it many of times and even changed the flavor to raspberry. This is 100% recommended!

I made this for a friend's birthday and it was a success. Followed recipe exactly but added slivers of pecans on top with the oranges. Will make again and again

I made this for Easter dinner today and it went over very well. I couldn't find ladyfingers at the store, so I used vanilla-filled rolled wafers. I cut them in half, then lined them around the edge of the pan after I put the first couple layers of filling in (otherwise they won't stand up). The white cream part was a bit runny even after being in the fridge for a couple hours. Next time I might freeze it or omit the milk. Otherwise, it was very good and refreshing. Will make again.

This is a beautiful dessert and tastes delicious! I've made orange and strawberry flavored. If you can't find the ladyfingers, you can use graham cracker crumbs, but the ladyfingers make it look very sophisticated.
