This was delicious. I only baked mine for about 40 minutes and it was perfect. I substituted 1 Cup brown rice flour for the white and used applesauce instead of the butter. My kids loved it too.

Fabulous recipe! Doubles and triples really well too. When I tripled it for extra loaves, I didn't watch the clock. I just watched the loaves until they look brown enough and tented them with foil until they were done inside. I'm keeping the ingredients for this on hand all the time now! Perfect recipe to make for gifts!

I love this recipe. The orange is not overly strong, the choc chips are a great addition. The bread is moist and easy to bake.

I left out the chocolate chips in this bread and used extra orange juice 3/4 cup with 1/4 hot water to give it more flavor. This is a new great go to bread that my kids love for snack time even without the chocolate chips. It is quick and easy to make and seems healthier than some other breads that rely on a lot of oil or butter in the recipes. Will continue to make.

I typically follow the recipe and directions for the most part, but I will admit I changed a couple of things because I really wanted to make this and had it adapt to what I had on hand. First, I just used 1 cup of orange juice in place of the orange and boiling water because I didn't have oranges. I wanted to make sure the orange flavor came through really well, so I added a few drops of LorAnn Orange Oil to that batter to enhance the flavor. I used milk chocolate chips and baked for 35 minutes and my bread was done at that point. Although I did enhance the flavor, this is a great recipe. I am loving the chocolate and orange combination. As someone else mentioned, the bread is a tad on the crumbly side, you will notice when you begin to slice it.

I used this as my base recipe, but made some changes based on what others had said. First of all, I used 1/4 cup UNDILUTED frozen orange juice, added my fresh orange zest, and topped it up to one cup with hot water. I wanted a really nice strong orange flavor and read the others found this recipe didn't deliver. This gave it a FANTASTIC strong orange flavor! Secondly, I increased the butter to half a cup. I wanted to make sure the loaf was really tender and cake like, which it did end up being. Also, I increased the baking soda to a full 1 tsp. I cooked this in 2 loaf pans, but should have only done one, as it didn't really rise a lot. I think next time I make this, I will probably cook it as a cake in a 9 X 11 pan instead of having this a loaf. The flavors were absolutely wonderful and the texture was very nice, but a tiny bit crumbly. I might add and extra egg next time and see if that keeps things together a little better.

This baked up quite nice and I thought the orange flavor came through perfectly. Will use mini chocolate chips next time, though.

I used the juice from two oranges and still found the orange taste to be fairly subtle. I used slightly more than a cup of mini chocolate chips. Good bread but not wonderful...not a bad way to use up some oranges though.
