I made these for dessert after dinner. I Used the cocoa and oil substitute since I didn't have chocolate. I also used half sugar and half brown sugar. The brownies were so good the pan didn't even make it to dinner.

These were really good, chocolaty, moist, fudgy brownies. A real crowd please. The only problem I had was cutting them; the top had kind of a hard crust and so it just crushed and cracked around the knife. Otherwise very nice, I'll definitely make again.

Awesome awesome awesome! Perfectly fudgey. I used the cocoa and vegetable oil substitution, and they were amazing.

Great converter to gluten-free! Way better than a mix, this brownie recipe worked really well when I made it gluten-free by using bean & rice flours. The flavor was fabulous, and the smooth texture just melted in our mouths! I sprinkled the top with chocolate chips just for an extra punch of chocolate. This is my forever brownie recipe!

I was going to give this a 4. But then I tried getting the rest out of the pan, and ran into problems. The taste is pretty good - not as chocolaty as I usu make (I was out of ingred for my usu recipe), but still tasted good. However, they didn't come out and off the spatula w/o falling apart easily. And the outer edges of the pan are still in my pan, impenetrable by my knife. All that said, my kids thoroughly enjoyed them, and I am sure my hubby will when he gets home! The un-cuttable edges are the reason I rated down. sorry!

These were good but not great. I didn't have bakers chocolate squares but took another reviewrs advice of using coco powder as a subsitution. It worked out good, but I thought the baking time should have been less that 35 min. I only cooked mine for 30 & still found them to be a bit dry. Like I said, good but not great...definatley easy though!

My first review! I've been using all recipes for years but never reviewed. This brownie recipe was that awesome! I had to substitute a few things just b/c I didnt have all of the ingredients it called for. Instead of all purpose flour I used whole wheat flour and I didnt have any chocolate squares so I used 12 tablespoons of cocoa powder. I also didnt have any walnuts so I mixed in some chocolate chips and sprinkled some more on top while it was still in the oven before the top was crusty. I think my whole wheat flour kept it from being too chocolatey. But still fantastic!

Very easy to make and yummy to eat! My only issue with this recipe is that it calls for a very large pan, which made the brownies a bit thin. Next time, I will use a smaller pan to make fatter brownies!

I just made these for my very pick family and they all ravished them. I did do a few alterations. 1. I did the 12 TBS Cocoa with the 3 TBS oil as previously mentioned, I also added 1/3 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. My husband is a chocoholic. :) My kids loved them as well as my husband. This recipe was easy ans delicious I will be using it often. One more thing we also let them cool then cut, and then warmed slightly in the microwave added one scoop of vanilla ice cream and some hot fudge and caramel.. (ala mode) YUMMY. Thank you for sharing.

These were mediocre at best. They weren't very chocolaty at all. I halved the recipe twice and made a tiny batch as I always do with new recipes (following it exactly), because I dont want to waste ingredients on a bad recipe. I also did this with Brookes Best Bombshell Brownies at the same time (last night) and had a little taste test. There wasn't even a moments hesitation when my boyfriend and I decided that Brookes Brownies were a million times better. I was fooled by the picture for this recipe... because it looks like this recipe will make amazing brownies... but it doesn't... TRUST ME! Plus Brookes Brownies are half the fat of these ones!!!!!

These are very good. The top crust could be a little "crustier" so I didn't give them 5 stars, but if I could give them 4 1/2, I would. They are fudgy, chewy at the edges, and have a good chocolate flavor. The ease of the recipe and the fact that they take one bowl will make these a staple in my house.

Nice and chewy. I used the cocoa/oil substitute for the chocolate squares, used plenty of butter and cocoa to grease the pan, and had no problems with sticking as other reviewers have mentioned.
