It's easy to make and to transfer to other type of brownies too.

I have never made anything from scratch until this recipe and it was so simple and DELICIOUS! I will definitely be making these again. The only things I changed were: I used 3/4 c butter with canola oil, added slivered almonds, and used Betty Crocker Brownie Topper (chocolate) to frost them. I think the butter with canola oil combo made them extra rich and gooey, just the way I like them!

I made this that week and substituted cocoa powder for the chocolate squares and topped the brownies with sliced almonds before I put them in the oven. They turned out wonderfully soft and fluffy! Everyone loves them. Even after a week, they were soft and moist, especially after microwaving for about 30-40 seconds. Will be coming back to this simple recipe in the future.

This is the best brownie recipe that i've found on the site, none of the others turned out very well for me. This will be my brownie recipe from now on... they turned out moist, but not cake-like, very chocolaty!

I have tried a few brownie recipes from this site and this is the winner. I didn't have baker chocolate so I used 1 cup semi-sweet chips and decresed the sugar to 1 1/2 c. Baked for 22 minutes and used the foil trick. Very very good. Tastes like a really good quality brownie mix. chewy, rich. Next time I am going to try and bake it in a 9x9. If you try a homemade brownie... try these!

This recipe is amazing. It's so easy and yet unbelievably delicious. My husband LOVES these, although he's not a big fan of chocolate. I made this many times for friends and colleagues, and they absolutely adore them.

This isn't even close to my definition of a brownie. And mine didn't look anything like that picture either. Since i took them out of the oven, the texture keeps changing, and the flavor is not brownie-like at all. Won't be trying this again.

For ease, this recipe was great. Unfortunately, I didn't have unsweetened chocolate and used semi-sweet along with the mix of brown and white sugars. The mix tasted pretty good, but once backed, they were too sweet. I would like to try again with the correct chocolate or maybe the cocoa powder mixture.

RICH AND CHEWY. EXTREMELY EASY. I DO LIKE TO ADD JUST A BIT OF SALT TO BAKED GOODS AND THIS WAS NO EXCEPTION.

These are incredible. I'm a high school teacher and my kids and absolutely loved them, as well as my husband. Delicious! I used bittersweet chocolate instead of non-sweetened, and maple syrup instead instead of vanilla.

I really wanted to like this recipe but I was very disappointed with the results. My 10 yr old daughter wanted to bake brownies for her class b/c she was nominated for student council. I chose this b/c of the simplicity and the reviews. However the final product was not as good as I'd hoped. You could taste the sugar in the brownie, also they weren't very chocolately and didn't have the color shown in the pic. Although, the texture was great in the brownies I could salvage (they stuck to the side of the pan--I had to literally scrape them off). The 2nd batch I added foil as suggested and was able to remove them easily but still, they had a baked sugar taste w/out much "chocolate" taste. Maybe the cocoa and oil many users suggested would help. If I try this recipe again I will definately cut the sugar and add cocoa.

Simply awesome. Even though I, oke other users, did adjust the recipe somewhat, these turned out awesome. I doubled the receipe (we have five children) but also cut the sugar in half. Like someone else, I did half brown sugar, half white. Really, really good. Good enough that I will only be making the normal batch now so we've got no choice but to eat only two or three each!

this was my friend's fave recipe...so glad I found it here! The conversion if you only have cocoa powder instead of baking chocolate squares is as follows: 1 C cocoa powder 1 C melted butter-better with real butter 2 C sugar 3 large eggs 1 C flour 1 ts vanilla and my kids still don't like nuts, so for now we omit and they are chewy & gooey ....and easier to remember! Thank you!
