I think I'll go with a different recipe next time. Certainly not the best I have had (I still ate them thou!). I did the cocoa/oil as I had no chocolate on hand & added a bit more flour. I'd keep the extra flour out next time. They kept REALLY well in the fridge.

I guess I am not a fan of unsweetened chocolate. Even with the 2 cups of sugar the recipe calls for, I couldn't get that bitter taste out of my mouth after biting into the brownie for the "taste test". The foil trick did work, however. Line the pan with foil, grease with butter, then sprinkle some flour before adding the batter to the pan. No sticking here!

Made these last night but only had dark chocolate chips. Next time I will cut down the sugar if I'm using the chips as it was too sweet. Great recipe though and the first time I've ever done brownies from scratch! I'm at work now and I just know when I get home, hubby and daughter will have them gone!

this was so easy to make. and such a delicious batter too ;) i ended up only having one egg though, so to substitute, i added about 1/2 cup of heavy cream and it was heavenly.

I am typically not a sweets baker, so I was a little shocked to see the amount of sugar and butter that went into this recipe. Nonetheless it turned out GREAT! Exactly the way I want a brownie to be. I added dried bing cherries which added a much welcomed tangy chew to the brownie. I would recommend the addition of dried fruits such as apricots, cherries or cranberries.

We added about a 1/4 of a cup of white chocolate chips and some homeade chocolate frosting on top because at first they smelled like they were not sweet enough . Then after we took them out of the oven although we cooked them for 40 min. Then we cooled them for approx. 20 min. We cut them and added frosting. We ended up having to scoop the "brownies " out with a large ladle. These brownies were good but like a chocolate heaven and them were chocolate mush. Nobody can have another one because they are soooo chocolately . Now we call them Brownie MUSH.

This was a good recipe. I used 3/4 cup of cocoa instead of the squares. I like my brownies to be a little moist so I only put in 3/4 cup of flour. I also like them a bit sweeter so I added 1/4 cup of sugar. I also added 1/2 tsp of salt. They come out really moist.

These were very good. I did 1 1/2 C. white sugar and 1/4 C. brown. Also, an extra tsp. of vanilla and instead of walnuts (didn't have any) i used semi-sweet chocolate chips. And just because, i added a spoonful of Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder.

Yum! I only had whole wheat flour and these brownies were the absolute best. My very picky brownie loving daughter even loved them. I was not a fan of brownies but I am now!

My husband always complained about my brownies, but now he has no reason to and asks for them constantly. A pan doesn't last 2 day in my house. The most incredible brownies I have ever tasted. Great w/the walnuts!

I have never made anything from scratch until this recipe and it was so simple and DELICIOUS! I will definitely be making these again. The only things I changed were: I used 3/4 c butter with canola oil, added slivered almonds, and used Betty Crocker Brownie Topper (chocolate) to frost them. I think the butter with canola oil combo made them extra rich and gooey, just the way I like them!

I made this that week and substituted cocoa powder for the chocolate squares and topped the brownies with sliced almonds before I put them in the oven. They turned out wonderfully soft and fluffy! Everyone loves them. Even after a week, they were soft and moist, especially after microwaving for about 30-40 seconds. Will be coming back to this simple recipe in the future.
