Dutch Apple Cake

This is another great cake for the fall. When apples are plentiful and delicious there are so many ways to thank mother nature for its bounty. I pick a lot of the wild apples in the fall, and turn them into great desserts.

My mom made these when I was a little girl. We would love to help her and of course eat them afterward. Dust with powdered sugar, granulated sugar or cinnamon. Delicious!

This is a Dutch classic and very easy to make. As I love the taste of coffee, I choose to use brewed strong coffee for this recipe, but alternatively you can use the same amount of instant coffee. You can also make it low-fat by using skim or fat-free milk. Enjoy this all-time Dutch favorite!
